Left temple pain, watery left eye and nostril

I am 51 years of age and in fair condition, had a complete physical this year, however, I was awaken by excruciating pain in my left temple about 1am, jumped out of bed and immediately began massaging the area; that lasted about 20 mins. It felt as if something was pressing upon my temple; it trobbed and the pain radiated at the base of my neck. Now, thinking back on it, it reminded me of a 'charlie-horse." I prayed, applied pressure, massaging the neck, using a massage wand w/bulb on the end to apply pressure at the back of my head. I have never experienced anything like this before! My thought is pinched nerve?! It is very sore on the spine (at the base of the neck). Pain has subsided, however, the area is very tender, espcially, under the skull on my left...any thoughts anyone? Thank you in advance.

How are you? Hi how are you? Was there a recurrence of the temple pain? Throbbing one-sided headaches are usually attributed to migraine headache. This usually resolves with rest, ice packs, and pain medications. However, if this happened again, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Direct clinical examiantion and further tests such as CT scan may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
