Hi,
It is good that you will be starting your migraine treatment program soon. The chances of recurrence is not high especially if the risk factors mentioned are controlled. Try to inform your boss also about this for him/her to understand the conditions and the steps you are doing to prevent this so that you can concentrate on your work. It is also possible that your migraine headaches are triggered by hormonal changes you may be experiencing. Wishing you all the best. Take care always.
I stay on a lowfat diet and have receently started the low tyramine diet recommended by the NHF to help with the frequency of my migraines. I don't smoke and don't have hypertension byt heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure all run in my family. I have had migraines for 25 years and lately have been extremely hard to control. I am going to a headache clinic in Tampa for a week to go th rough a migraine treatment program to see if it will help. It has to my job depends on it. This last episode with the TIA frightened meand I don't know what tp say to my boss. I don't think it will happen again....I won't happen again....this is a dilemma and one I can't lose my job over.
Hi,
How are you? According to the American Heart Association, TIA is a "warning stroke" or "mini-stroke" that produces stroke-like symptoms but no lasting damage. This occurs when a blood clot temporarily clogs an artery. The symptoms occur rapidly and last a short time. The good thing is recovery is complete. It may recur and the risk for future stroke depends on the cause of TIA and management of risk factors. It is important that you control these risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and other associated disorders. Smoking should also be stopped. Take care and regards.
