Migraines? Or more testing needed?

I have had what they say is a Migraine for 87 days straight now. It’s not like everyone else’s migraines though as I do not have light sensitivity, sound sensitivity or nausea.  Doctors have tried doing the cocktail through IV x 3 and never worked, tried zomig, tramadol, Botox injections, steroids, propranolol and the list goes on.  I avoid pills as much as possible as I’m aware this could cause a rebound headache. When it comes on its fast and hard! No easing into it. Mostly starts when I walk around, like first thing in the morning. I saw a neurologist, she said nerve damage and did 5 cc’s Into back of the head, this made it worse. I try acupuncture, massage etc, no relief. Does anyone have any ideas? Just tired of living like this daily.  Thanks a bunch.

Hi there -

I'm so sorry you've been living with this for so long.

It doesn't sound like a migraine - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/migraine-headache/symptoms-causes/syc-20360201 - but there are other types of headaches that can be just as miserable.

Have you had any imaging done, like an MRI or CT? After almost 3 months with headaches, one of your docs needs to stop throwing meds at you, and start looking for a cause, especially since the typical treatments for migraine aren't working.

It sounds as if these are not new for you if they went to Botox injections.

Topomax has helped me a great deal, along with a beta blocker. It did take a long time of trial and error, but I had a CT scan to rule anything out early on. I also get light and sound sensitivity.

https://www.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/migraines-headaches-basics#1 - here is an explanation of the more common types of headaches, but there are over 100 types, and I hope you get some answers soon.
