Pain and pressure right side of brain, behind eye etc

Can someone help? Concerned about my health and wellbeing. Having a particular symptom that no one seems to be able to help with. I.e., head feeling so heavy at times where it feels like my neck can't hold it up and now I'm having pain and pressure on the right side of my head behind my eye to the back of my headand it appears to make me feel like I have to vomit. My doctor is giving me 800 mg of pain medicine... Anyone else experience this?

Hi,
How are you? Aside from migraine, another primary headache that we can consider is cluster headache. Cluster headaches present with excruciating pain in vicinity of eye.  The pain frequently develops during sleep and may last for several hours. The attacks may  occur every day for weeks then disappear for up to a year.  Try to avoid smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages. If it persists despite the medication given by your doctor, you may benefit from further evaluation. Take care and regards.

It sounds exactly like the migraines I get.  I have had them since I was about 7 years old.  The only thing that has seemed to really help me is getting regular sleep, eating fairly well (lots of fluids, especially water!), and taking Amerge or Maxalt when I get a migraine.  I think it is best to go see a doctor if you haven't already.  They might have some suggestions or refer you to a neurologist.

Do this pranayam  (breathing exercises) and if you do not see improvement by 12 weeks, seek medical advice.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
