Can somebody tell me if someone can developed a Pituitary enlargement due to severe stress? Because I developed one when I was going through very stressful times, along with anxiety, palpitations, Insomnia, depression, and other symptoms.
How are you? The cause of pituitary enlargement or tumors are unknown. And there are not enough studies showing any association to stress. However, some are part of hereditary disorder called multiple endocrine neoplasia I, which is hereditary. It is best that you discuss this with your attending physician for proper evaluation also. Take care and regards.
Although pituitary enlargement are often associated with a tumor, other considerations that should be ruled out include internal bleeding into the ,thyroid disorder, or other underlying ailments such as sarcoidosis disease. Treatment is recommended as soon as the condition is diagnosed.
