Thanks!
Yes, I thought it might be something like that. I am a musician (saxophone, clarinet, bassoon) and I have had some neck/back issues as a result. I recently played a lot of gigs (with rehearsals I was playing 12-15 hours a day) with baritone saxophone (the big one) that has always given me issues. I did a lot of coughing with the heavy instruments strapped around my neck and back. Could that have done it? I experience the sharp pain sometimes when laughing or singing or if I bend over- like it is blood pressure related? I'm going to visit the doctor tomorrow and get it checked out. The pain is definitely focused on the upper right part of my head, just above my ear. Thanks so much for your help - it will help me sleep a little better because I am a huge worry wort and always fear the worst (like a brain tumor or my brain is falling apart). =)
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Since you can feel the pain on moving your head it is either a muscle pull or a pinched nerve. There is a chance that you have compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck (even like coughing), canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A few neck exercises, analgesic creams and sprays, heat pads or chiropractors can help relieve the pain. A MRI of the cervical spine may be required. Please consult a neurologist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
