I couldn't say for sure one way or the other. That is only for your dr to say. But you might have some reassurance that from what has been posted on here, the pain with an aneurism is like the worst pain ever. If you are able to get by with the occasional tylenol that might be a good sign. Hopefully you will not have to wait long to get your results from the mri. Another thing that you might keep in mind is that lots of other things can cause pressure. Be sure and keep a diary of your pain: time of day, what were you doing, what were you eating or drinking, were you reading, watching tv or listening to music, what was the weather like, etc. All of these things will be good info for your dr. Try to concentrate on the diary, keeping really good records. It may help you to focus on something proactive while you are waiting for answers. Really hope you are able to enjoy the holiday. Keep us posted!
Okay and thank you foryour response. Its weird i tell myself everyday that if the pain was anywhere else on my body it wouldntbother me but due to my gigantic fear of anerysms this whole thing has sentme through a nightmare.Everyone says that its not though and the only thing that ihave for reassurance is that my ct scan was okay and that idonthave blurred vision or double vision or nausea or vomiting or one dialated pupil like i said the onlypart that scares me is that its localized but its not like a headache its like a pressure sometimes ithurts but the pain isnt anything that i cant handle but it does scare me alot.Would itbe safe to say that i dont have one?
HI. Didn't forget you. So your MRI is still a week away? I hope you will get some answers with that. I am not a dr but from what I understand the pain can radiate from the actual site of damage, ex. pinched nerve. It may be the neck that is causing the head pain, or it may be the head that is causing the neck pain. I have atypical migraine that can cause pain in my foot, so I know a little about the confusion of damage site with pain site. Try not to think about it too much because even with an mri, you still may not have answers to your pain. It may take a little investigating, keeping a head pain diary for a while. That might be good to do while you are waiting. May be very helpful to your dr. Please keep us posted because what helps one may help another. :)
Thank youto both who have answered i havnt gotten the MRI yet thats about a week away and the most medicine i take i one tylenol if it bad that i cant handle it and i maybe take 2 or 3 tylenols a week if that and again that is onlyif it really bad. I have kind of beenat a loss of words really im so confusedas to what is making that quarter size spot on my head hurt but not my whole head and again the nerve feels pinched behind my shoulder blade and wherethe neck and shoulder meet. Is it fair to maybe guess that that could be the cause of this?
Hi,
How are you? It is good that both the MRI and CT scan were fine. This may indeed be due to nerve issues and you need to discuss this with your neurologist. Prescription medications may be indicated for this. Other differentials such as medication side effect is also possible especially if you are also taking other medications. Take care and do keep us posted.
I didn't see where you mentioned any type of medication you may be taking for the pain, but I had a similar thing happen several years ago. I do have migraine with aura but this was in a totally different spot, back of my skull, very sharp pain. Like an electric shock. Quick but extremely painful. I saw a regular internist and he said it was a nerve pain. The nerve can misfire, for whatever reason, and cause pain. A short course of Neurontin took it away.
Just something to consider.
