Why do I get headaches with ear drainage?

Hello. I'm a 30 year old female. I have Spina Bifida with a Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt. I also have Epilepsy and a Migraine disorder. Well my problem is almost every time I get a headache my ears drain clear liquid. I wake up with headaches almost every morning or sometimes even if I take a nap I will wake up with a headache and the drainage will begin. I have had my sinuses checked doctors say my sinuses are okay. Its been going on for about 6 months to a year now. Why does my ears do that? And why do I wake up with headaches? Headaches have been going on for years.
