constant headache

I had a sinus infection in Nov of 2007, and I have had a headache ever since. It has been a constant thing that is beginning to drive me insane. I have recently had a CAT scan that came back normal in an emergency room. Sometimes it is so intense I have to go to bed and take vicodin (2) so the pain will subside. It is usually pounding when I need to take the vicodin. My head feels like there is a ball rolling around on the inside and when it hits the walls of my skull it hurts really bad. I hope you don't think I am crazy. I have not had any medical coverage until the last 2 weeks, and most times it is debilitating and I am in bed alot. I have had very low fevers between 99.0 and 99.8. My normal temp is 97.8 due to underactive thyroid. I get dizzy and nauseous, but I never vomit although I feel like I will. I have suffered from veritgo on the past and the attacks usually lasted from 2 to 3 weeks. I am so tired of this. Please, any advice will be appreciated. The headaches also wake me up from a sound sleep, and sometimes I feel like my brain is not allowing me to go to sleep. My head feels like an electronic device that is constantly on.

i have pretty close to the same symptoms as you... one doctor just diagnosed me with chronic sinusitis.... i have had what we thought were migraines since i was about 9 and i am 26 now... my CT scan showed that everything was fine... but xrays show that i have fluid in my sinuses that wont go away. i am now conflicted as to whether or not i have migraines or if it's been my sinuses all along. the doctor said that the symptoms for each are quite similar.

Hi, your symptoms are suggestive of migraine, in sinusitis headaches are usually not pulsating but dull and also not that severe. But, low grade fever should be investigated. This could be either due to sinus infection or something else.

Try treatment with antibiotics (amoxacillin, levofloxacin etc) along with anti histaminics, anti inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, diclofenac etc). If no response is seen, consult neurologist for migraine therapy.
