I know its an annoying symptom. Just got reminded of its discomfort as I had to have two fillings from earlier years replaced today. My upper jaw is slightly aching from all that activity today. To bad I just gave my Sister-in-law my remaining supply last week. Oh well I guess it never hurts (pun intended) to have it on hand for when you need it!
Good luck.
thanks for input-appreciate it!! this is a new ailment for me so need all the help i can get!!
thank you for your help, Dr!
Hi,
How are you? TMJ is caused by malocclusion, stress, and jaw clenching. Relaxation, biofeedback, use of bite plate or mouth guard like yours can help. The pain can be relieved with pain medication or lyrica which is indicated for neuropathic pain as in your case. If your pain medication do not work, stronger prescription pain medications may be indicated. In form your doctor about this if it persists. Take care and regards.
In addition to Dr Santos comments above, you might want to try pantothenic acid 500 milligrams available at GNC along with B2. I had an episode of jaw clenching that I just couldn't shake for about a year.
It finally resolved so I don't need it anymore. Can't say if it was the B5 or just stress relief but it isn't harmful. in lower doses. It certainly would be the cheapest remedy over lyrica.
Good luck and God Bless!
