You definitely need to go to a different neurologist, hopefully a pain management doctor.  That doctor to laugh at you and question you about your migraines is unacceptable.  But in the meantime, I would take his advice and increase your preventative migraine medication if you can tolerate that. What other things have you tried?  In the 33 years that you've had migraines, have you had any scans of your brain, Botox injections, nerve block or trigger point injections?  Let me know.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi Maria,
I understand your concern regarding your headache. What other symptoms are present? While there are different types of headache, management may also vary depending on the type. You may benefit from another doctor's opinion or referral from a neurologist for proper management. Imaging studies may also be done. Aside from avoiding the possible triggers, medical management and alternative therapies such as acupuncture may also help. Hope this helps.  Take care and do keep us posted.
