How are you? Were you able see your cardiologist? Light-headedness happens when there is not enough blood getting to the brain. This may be due to a sudden drop in your blood pressure or if you are dehydrated from vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or other causes. Other causes include heart problems (such as abnormal heart rhythm or heart attack), stroke, and severe drop in blood pressure (shock). Additional symptoms like chest pain, a feeling of a racing heart, loss of speech, change in vision may be felt. If you tend to get light-headed when you stand up, then it is best that you avoid sudden changes in posture. Drinking plenty of fluids is also recommended. Diagnostic tests that may be done include blood pressure measurement, ECG, hearing tests, neurological tests, balance testing and even MRI. Take care and do keep us posted.

Hi I was wondering what are all the dirrerent names for migrane headaches and could it be my migraine. I have not completed all my test as monday i woke up with such a bad migraine i did not make my apointment to audiology dept,
my migrains are severe pain in my shoulder up the back of my neck in my tooth / ear and temple it also is in my eye / sinus area the neck area feels like something is being sqeezed tightly.
oh and my face gets burning or tingling numb sensation. I was wondering if you could tell me the names of different types of migraines. I am so afraid to take my zomig after what happened 12days ago. Any info would greatly be apprieciated.
How was your chemical stress test and appointment with your ENT doctor? This could be migraine with aura, which presents with warning symptoms such as visual disturbances, numbness in arm or leg. Pain is felt a few minutes after. This can be treated with medications at the earliest onset of symptoms or by biofeedback therapy. On the other hand, cluster headaches, another type of primary headache, presents with pain in the vicinity of eye and also is associated with tearing of eye, nose congestion, flushing of face. Pain frequently develops during sleep and may last for several hours. It is best that you check with your doctor for proper evaluation. There are other different kinds of migraine that should also be ruled out. Best regards.
With regards to the different kinds of migraine, there are the typical and atypical migraine. Typical migraines present with or with out aura. While atypical may be abdominal migraine , nocturnal migraine, cyclic migraine syndrome, complicated Migraine, ophthalmoplegic migraine, retinal/ocular migraine, hemiplegic migraine, basilar migraine. To determine your kind of migraine, further evaluation may need to be done by your neurologist.
Hi Thank you for the info on migraines.. Ok on a bad note my health Ins. denide me to have a stress test they also denide me to have mra which i already did have so i am praying they will pay for it anyways.
On a good note i do not have meineirs vertigo or a small tumor in my ear the say my balanceing seems normal. Which means i am back to what the heck is going on.
I am able to walk around now the falling feeling is not as many as when i started out the ent doc. want me to an MRI with contrast of the brain to rule out a brain tumor.
Brain tumors are in my family history my father died age 55 he has a cancerous brain tumor he died of a heart attack the day he was suppose to go home from the hospital after chemotheripy so who knows. i am wondering if my migraines have anything to do with this.. I can not do anything heart related because my insurance said not medically nessecsary.. What are all the problems medically that does cause lightheadness falling feeling.. What else should i be looking for my neighbor said i should be tested for lymes any thoughts i truly would apriciate it i have so much on my plate.
I hope your insurance will reconsider. Light-headedness happens die to decreased blood getting to the brain. This can happen if there is a sudden drop in your blood pressure, dehydration, medical condition such as flu, hypoglycemia, common cold, or allergies. It can also be due to more serious conditions such as heart problems, stroke, and shock. Diagnostic tests that may be performed include: blood pressure measurements and tests, ECG, hearing tests, neurological tests, or balance testing (ENG). Take care and best regards.
