Hi I was wondering if you could help me with the results of this test i do have a doc appointment next week but i am wondering about the report

MRI Examination of the BRAIN PERFORMED AND POST GADOLINIUM ADMINSTRATION.
HISTORY SUSPECT CEREBELLAR ATAXIA

MRI FINDINGS

1. Mild Bilateral Cortical Atrophy
2. Mild deep white matter ischemic change as described

Report states Multiple MRI images of the brain performed pre and post gadolinlum administration show the fourth venticle to be midline and normal appearence. The lateral and third ventricles show mild ventriculomegaly. There is Mild Bilateral CORTICAL ASTROPHY noted.  Finding most suggest deep white matter ischemic change with in the Periventricular.  There is no evidence of enhancing mass, mass effect or midline shift. No intra or extra axial fluid collection is demonstrated.

The cerebellar pontine angles and 7th and 8th nerve complexes are bilaterally symmetrical and in appearance. the pituitary gland and region of the sella appears normal in apperance as are the globes and extraocular contents. The Visuallalized Paranasal Sinuses show very mild periosteal thickening, right ethmoid air cells. The remainder appears clear The cerebellum and brain stem are normal in appearence.

What ? should i ask my Doctors when i go

Thank you

Hi,
I hope your insurance will reconsider. Light-headedness happens die to decreased blood getting to the brain. This can happen if there is a sudden drop in your blood pressure, dehydration, medical condition such as  flu, hypoglycemia, common cold, or allergies. It can also be due to more serious conditions such as  heart problems, stroke, and shock. Diagnostic tests that may be performed include: blood pressure measurements and tests, ECG, hearing tests, neurological tests, or balance testing (ENG). Take care and best regards.

With regards to the different kinds of migraine, there are the typical and atypical migraine. Typical migraines present with or with out aura. While atypical may be abdominal migraine , nocturnal migraine, cyclic migraine syndrome, complicated Migraine, ophthalmoplegic migraine, retinal/ocular  migraine, hemiplegic migraine, basilar migraine. To determine your kind of migraine, further evaluation may need to be done by your neurologist.

Hi,
How was your chemical stress test and appointment with your ENT doctor? This could be migraine with aura, which presents with warning symptoms such as visual disturbances, numbness in arm or leg. Pain is felt a few minutes after. This can be treated with medications at the earliest onset of symptoms or by biofeedback therapy. On the other hand, cluster headaches, another type of primary headache, presents with pain in the  vicinity of eye and also is associated with tearing of eye, nose congestion, flushing of face. Pain frequently develops during sleep and may last for several hours. It is best that you check with your doctor for proper evaluation. There are other different kinds of migraine that should also be ruled out. Best regards.

Hi,
How are you? Were you able see your cardiologist? Light-headedness happens when there is not enough blood getting to the brain. This may be due  to a sudden drop in your blood pressure or if you are dehydrated from vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or other causes. Other causes include heart problems (such as abnormal heart rhythm or heart attack), stroke, and severe drop in blood pressure (shock). Additional symptoms like chest pain, a feeling of a racing heart, loss of speech, change in vision may be felt. If you tend to get light-headed when you stand up, then it is best that you avoid sudden changes in posture. Drinking plenty of fluids is also recommended.  Diagnostic tests that may be done include blood pressure measurement, ECG, hearing tests, neurological tests, balance testing  and even MRI. Take care and do keep us posted.
