DHE 45 & Migraine

Hi Everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone had experiance with DHE 45?  I was given this in the hospital and it cleared my terriable headache quicker than any other treatment i've ever had.    I hadn't heard of it until my admission to the hospital.   It worked better than any of the narcotics that they tried on me.   My head hurt so bad I just wanted to drill a hole in my head to releave the pressure.  
Hopefully my neurologist will ok me to do this treatment at home, as it can also be given subcutaneously by in injection.

You could talk to your doctor about this. Try the pills and see if they work in your case as well - it would be better to take the pills than the injectables at home.

Do let us know how you are doing and what your doctor has advised.

DHE is dihydroergotamine and it has been around forever.  I don't know if the injection is subcutaneously or pure IM but they do have pills as well.

I know the shots work the best and some docs will let you do home injections.  It is a migraine treatment that has been around forever - the 45 is new to me but haven't looked this up in a while.  I'm not a doc but your doc will probably love that DHE, not a narcotic worked that good - I envy you soooo much.
