Hi,

Based on what you have posted, one may consider :

Occipital neuralgia which presents with pain at the back of the head.Have you had any previous trauma to the head and neck ?

Tension headaches may also be considered as they do present with bilateral headaches that are nonthrobbing and are associated with tightened neck and shoulder muscles. What triggers your headaches?

Cervicogenic headaches or headaches secondary to a spine disorder may also be considered.A pillow that supports both the head and the neck well ( cervical neck pillows) may be able to help. Do you snore heavily or wake up at night to catch your breath?

Headaches secondary to an eye problem or errors of refraction may be considered.Have your eyes checked by an opthalmologist.

I suggest you seek initial consult with a neurologist.Pain medications may be beneficial only for short term relief of infrequent headaches as they may worsen the headaches if used for long periods.Your headaches need to be classified.Migraine headaches are given as a diagnosis only after other underlying causes have been ruled out.
