Yea, I mean I have been in therapy for a while now...and i have have general health anxiety, so I am working through it. I just hope i dont feel bad from this....i guess it is a good sign that I feel good now right? but i mean idk what else I would be able to take medicine wise that doesnt have the chance of being dizzy...i feel like veery medicine has the possibilty to cause that.
Hey D224.
I mentioned : Medical sources estimate the incidence of dizziness as a side effect while taking zoloft is 12%. That is 12% and this is only an estimate. Yet 88% that it won't happen.
Based on this MOST people do not get this effect!
You have to discuss with your doctor, how long it would take for dizziness to set after taking zoloft, but I doubt that anyone can give a precise answer
to such a variable. It must be reassuring that you have no symptoms showing so far.
It is a paradox, that you are prescribed Zoloft for a dizziness phobia,
while there's a possibility ( est. 12%) that dizziness would be one of the side effects.
paradox: a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true.
My suggestion is to complement this with therapy.
Perhaps something happened to you in your past, something that
you might not remember at all, that has to do with your issue.
Cheers!
Niko
but does this drug make most people dizzy? and when do those symtpoms start immedatly, days or when? i feel fine now? no symptoms at all. I am on day 4.
why is it a paradox that I was prescribed this? So is the medication known to make people dizzy? and when does that start to happen? immediately or like days after taking it or weeks???
Hi D,
It's important to book a follow-up visit with your doctor within a week or two of starting any new medication to review how it's going and talk about any side effects and questions, so this is what I will recommend to you. Also, as with any prescription sleep medication, it's advisable to also look at non-drug ways to help get to sleep and stay asleep as there are many effective methods that have zero side effects and long-term negative consequences on your sleep cycles, unlike sleeping pills like Zoloft if relied upon daily for sleeping. Hope this helps!:)
Hi D224. I'm glad you put zoloft to the test.
It does not matter what other people say about side effects of a particular
drug, as it will not be useful information to you!
You are the ultimate person that can judge this.
It's a bit of a paradox that you were prescribed this for your huge phobia of getting dizzy!
Medical sources estimate the incidence of dizziness as a side effect while taking zoloft is 12%.
Try conscious deep breathing several times daily, 5-10 minutes each time
for an easy way to distress and lower your anxiety about dizziness as a Zoloft side effect, till your your body tells you otherwise.
Cheers!
Niko
