Bleeding With No Cramping

I have been bleeding 2 days shy of a week now. According to my cycle I should be a little over 7 weeks pregnant. When the bleeding started I went to the ER. They did an US and there was a strong heartbeat. We were even able to record it!! I went to the doctor today and there was a flicker on the screen which showed a heartbeat but no sound. She said I measured 6wks 2days. She said its still early to hear and their machine isn't as high tech as the hospitals so that's why there was no sound. My question is I'm still bleeding with no cramping, does anyone else have this??? I'm very worried because of the bleeding and because the baby is not matching the dates. I know it was a good sign that we saw the heartbeat but why am I still bleeding? Please if anyone else has gone through this please share your experience. I'm so worried and I have to wait 5 more days till I get my next US! Thank you in advance for your kind respectful answers.

I personally think every women is different.  I miscarried at 14 weeks with no cramping just a bit of spotting which eventually turned into delivering him the next day.

Bleeding can be very normal during early pregnancy.  Seeing a heartbeat can be a good sign.  I saw my son's heartbeat at 7 weeks and 5 days and the miscarried.  Unfortunately you can't always predict these things.  As difficult as it is you just need to wait for that next ultrasound.

I also wouldn't be too concerned about the date difference.  My first child was 2 weeks based on my lmp and my other two have been a few days out.  Up to a week out is perfectly normal!!!!!

I am hoping for the best!!!  Try and stay positive :)

I guess everyones different. I lost my baby on mothers day at 4 months. I never really bled bad just a little pink in panties, n when I wiped. I did that for a week with no cramping but something just didnt feel right so I went to the hospital n found out. Go with your gut feeling. If something doesnt feel right then go to the hospital. Im almost three months and no bleeding! Yay!

I am so sorry you are having such a tough time of things.  Bleeding is so scary when we are pregnant.  If it is just bleeding with no cramping, and a strong heartbeat is still visible, these are all really good signs.  Statistically, about 30% of women will bleed in early pregnancy (it does not matter if it is brown, pink or red), and about half of these pregnancies work out just fine.  Having seen a heartbeat decreases your odds of a loss, so that is excellent.

As for baby not matching dates, that is not super uncommon either.  There is a +/- factor of a few days in terms of accuracy.  That is because, even those of us with very regular periods, it is impossible (unless this is IVF) to determine exact timing of conception.  And, after conception has taken place, implantation times can vary.  So, if you were way off there might be concern.  But with it being under a week, and again with strong heartbeat present, there is a good chance this will be just fine.

As for why the bleeding.  There are many many theories around this, but often times we never know for certain why.  It could be a small hematoma (sp?) bleeding itself out.  But often no reason is ever found, and it just stops.  I had this in my successful pregnancy.  It was scary, but didn't hurt the baby (he is 21 months now).

Hang in there.  Your next scan should give you answers.  The waiting is a nightmare I know, but at this moment, there is every reason so believe this will be fine. Take care, and all the best to you.
