Blighted ovum 3 weeks later no misscarriage

Hi Everyone.....I'm so confused please help! Here is my story, I found out I was prego right before New Years....I had no idea how long since I haven't had a period in 8 months. I was on the pill and I chose to skip the sugar pills every month and go straight into the next month so I wouldn't have a period. Well my bf went out of town and I decided to let my body do its thing and my period never came...I gave it about a week then took a test came out neg and did a few more within the next couple weeks...neg then at the end of the month it came out positive.   The dr here in a small town in Alaska told me to get a us...and luckily there was one in town at the time. It is an old machine...but she told me I was 6 weeks 3 days. and that it was a blighted ovum. I went back a week later and same thing. I got my hcg levels checked at 6 weeks and they were in the 7000's range...then at 7 weeks went down to the 6500 range. The the 2nd US still suggestd BO.  Dr told me (who is not a womens dr...all we have here is like a family clinic...you can;t even have a baby in this town ...you get sent out of town for that.)  So I go home waiting to miscarry and the dr says I might not bleed any because it will be reabsorbed back into my body. I wait another week and still no bleeding....I have all the symptoms of being prego...my boobs feel like they are going to explode... nausea...etc.  I'm so confused by this as 9 weeks comes up I call the clinic and talk to a nurse ...because my original Dr is now not here anymore. The nurse is great and tells me to come in and she will give me another blood test. I do and wait the 2 days to get the results back because they have to send them all the way to Oregon to get tested. I get the call back and my hcg levels are going back up to the 8000's range. I know this is low for a 9 week along preg...but why would they go up? I thought that once they start going down they keep going down? Has anyone had this happen? Now I'm almost 10 weeks and still no sign of MC.....and still feel very Prego. Clothes are starting to get tight now. I was told to travel up to Anchorage to get a D&C by an new Dr...who again is just a family clinic Dr. He said my body just doesn't realize there is no baby yet.  I'm so confused!!!!

sorry hun.. but I understand where you are coming from.. I think as long as your body doesn't realize that the baby is no more and doens't start bleeding you would continue to have pregnancy symptoms bc the placenta is the one that secrets the hormones.

I had a mc on Thanksgiving day .. I was measuring 6 weeks when I was supposed to be about 9... so apparently it took my body 3 weeks to firgure out what was going on and went by the doc to make sure and had a d&c done on Nov 29.. sometimes it takes longer for a person body to realize what is going on and waiting so long can sometimes cause infections. I would go see the doctor and make sure that if it's a blight ovum to have it removed ASAP either by d&c or sometimes they give you a pill to pass it out.. but the option is yours..

Hi, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, I would definitely travel and see another doctor to confirm if your pregnancy is viable or if you have had a missed miscarriage. If you have had no bleeding yet it could be that the person doing the ultrasound got it wrong, especially if the machine is so old, they may have got your dates wrong or it could be that your body has not recognised the miscarriage and you may need medical management. In sorry your going through this and there is so much uncertainty, the best thing you can do is consult a new doctor who specialises or has more experience with pregnancies.
I had a missed miscarriage last year, I had no bleeding or pain, it was picked up on an ultrasound, we waited 2 weeks and had another ultrasound and more blood tests which showed that my hcg levels went up and I was still feeling nauseous and tired but there was no change on the ultrasound, it was still blighted ovum, I ended up having a d&c 1 week later.
All the best in whatever you choose to do.
