I had a D&C about 8 weeks ago and I just don't feel the same.  I still feel pressure at times and it hurts inside my vagina on the left side from time to time.  My doctor did a follow up  2 and half weeks after the procedure and she said everything looked good.  Can your body still be healing after a miscarriage?

In your heart you will know when you are ready. For me at the beginning the fear was unmanagable but after a bit I started to talk to someone and deal with everything I was feeling. For me it didn't help since at 12 wks I was diagnosed with a high risk pg but it had nothing to do with my reoccuring m/cs. With pg like I tell everyone you just never know it truly is a gamble. I wish you nothing but the best. Hang in there and let me know what happens....

Thank you so much ArmyPrincess819.  It makes me feel better that you have had a similar situation.  It worried me since it was feeling I have never felt before and it came right after the D&C.   It makes me scared to try for another baby which ***** because I'm so ready.

I got my period like 5 weeks after, but it was not normal.  I had weird cramps and spotting for a couple of days and then my period came and bleeding was normal.  I usually don't cramp too bad and this was a little more intense, nothing that no one couldn't handle.  I'm beginning to have the same symptoms again for period number two, but I just don't think this is normal as well.  My doctor said 2 normal periods.  I will talk to her about this too.  I am feeling better lately.  I feel like it's getting better so hopefully it will keep improving as the days pass by.  I know my doctor also said that your period can come 4-8 weeks after your HCG level is negative to keep that in mind.  If you did it the natural way, it could take 3 months to get a period.  Just what we need, a reminder for the next 3 months of why are yoohoo is being difficult.  Blah!

Yes especially after a d and c. I had complications from the d and e I had and the d and c. It took me like almost 5 mos to get back to normal again. That is worse case scenerio. Usually at least a few months. A miscarriage natural or d and c is trauma to your body. I would stay in touch with your dr and if in a few weeks you don't feel better I would get checked out to make sure there is no infection setting in etc. I would ask for a u/s to make sure they got everything in the d and c. Make sure you rest and stay well hydrated. Best wishes to you. I'm so sorry for your loss I hope you feel better soon...

hi sistersue,
I am very sory for your loss.I had a D&C too on10th February.I haven't got my period yet,  doctor said it might take 40 days or just be normal, depends everybody is different.  I am feeling okay now although I have a big belly still look like a pregnant, I think  uterus hadn't shrunk back down yet.But my doctor did not say anything about it,  if I should have a medicine, what do you recon, do you think I should have something for my uterus.
Could you please inform me about it, if you know something.Thank you so much.

No, I actually have a healthy son who is almost two and I'm so grateful yet I guess that's why I didn't expect this to happen.  I am just hoping that I have success next time.  I have been told I have to wait two cycles which seems like an eternity.  I don't know when my first period will even return.  You said you got one, right?  How long did it take?  I'm just worried that it won't come back for awhile and that my cycles are going to be all screwed up.....

Oh yes I will be trying soon.  The doctor felt like the second time around would  be better.  Again, just an opinion.  As soon as I start feeling better down there.  You are right though, the more activity I do, the more I can feel it on that side.  When I am resting, it's so faint or there is nothing.  When I wake up in the morning I'm like "YES, it's gone!"  Then I move around a bit and then I'm like darn.  At first I was so mad and was like why do I have to go through yet another thing, but then I'm trying to think why not?  When I was having my miscarriage and I went to the ER, they did what seemed a bajillion tests to see what could have caused it.  They found nothing except a UTI.  So I guess I take this experience for what it is and at least I can be a witness for others.  I'm sure I will still feel upset, mad, depressed and so on.  My best friend told me that 6 months after her first m/c she got pregnant again (with twins) and she had a lot of burning when she urinated.  The doctor told her that her body has been through a lot with the m/c and all that she was still healing.  I thought that was odd, but everybody is different.  All I know is that I was fine until I had that D&C.  Not trying to play the blame game, but how can I not.  I am so sorry for your losses.  Was this two in a row?

I also found that when I had days I did more activity..like doing multiple loads of laundry running up and down the stairs at the house I felt the pain more than I did after a nights rest.  This was my second pregnancy and I was blind-sided by the whole thing.  I am sorry this was your first pregnancy/loss.  The emotions I never dreamed that I could feel this alone, sad, angry, depressed...as I have this past few weeks.  Are you going to try again soon?  That is also an emotional decision.

I was 9 1/2 weeks pregnant.  I did receive the medication for the shrinking of uterus.  I was good for about 2 weeks after that and then I started feeling the pain.  I brought it up to her and thought it was a UTI.  We tested for that and I have no bacteria.  It's really funny because if I'm resting it goes away.  It's just annoying, but the pain doesnt get worse and I sleep fine through the nights.  It's not crampy.  It either burns or it hurts in the left side.  I'm going to the OB in a couple of weeks.  If it gets worse I'll go in soon.  I'm also sorry that you have go through the same thing I did.  Was it your first pregnancy?  It was for me and it's amazing how emotional I can get.

I had a d&c two weeks ago.  I am feeling okay now although on Mon. had to go back to drs. because I had a blood clot and my uterus hadn't shrunk back down now...what did they do at the followup?  They had to do another ultrasound to measure my uterus and they put me on medicine to help the uterus contract.  That could be the pressure you feel.  Have you told them about the pain?  I had some of that the first week...but you might want to check and make sure you don't have an infection.  I think that it could be possible to still be healing....I think this can really mess with your body.  How far into your pregnancy were you?  I think that may also have something to do with how your body heals.  I was between 7-8 weeks so the size of the uterus at the time of the procedure can make a difference too I would think. Good luck....are you ttc again?

I did get my period.  I almost wish I did it naturally, but the doctor thought this would be best for my situation.  It's just annoying.

I'm very sorry for your loss.  I don't know much about D&C as I had a natural m/c, but if things still don't feel right, it can't hurt to call your dr.  Have you gotten your first period yet after the procedure?
