Did I have a chemical pregnancy (5 weeks)?

I was 5 days late for my period (last period started on 20th Feb) and I usually get my periods on time. The week after AF was due I felt bloated, nauseous, tender breasts, frequent peeing and tired. At first I thought my period was just late because it felt like it was coming at any moment but it never did.

I did my first pregnancy test on the 23rd and it came up a faint positive then I did more the next 2 days which also were faint positives. However yesterday morning (26th) I started bleeding which was really worrying. Sorry if this is TMI, but it was bright red like new blood with abit of clotting/dark bits but no passing tissue? It's not heavy, it's sort of moderate, there's not much on the pad but when I wipe it looks like a lot on the toilet tissue (still bleeding after a day).

I did a test a few hours after I started bleeding and it was a darker positive? Is this a chemical pregnancy? Why could the positive be darker? Wondering if anyone has similar experience with the same thing happening? :(

It could be a chemical pregnancy or it could be spotting/bleeding in an early pregnancy that sticks around for a full 40 weeks. I would give your doctor a call and they can monitor your hcg levels until they're high enough to see something on ultrasound.  Good luck!
