First Period after M/C

I had a D&C  at 14 weeks for a missed miscarriage on June 4th. Last week on July 2nd I got my period. I'm now on my 9th day of bleeding and it is very heavy. Is this normal? How has it been for other people?

Well I called my dr and he said that I could take 3-4 advil to slow the bleeding but theres nothing to worry about. Hopefully it will stop soon because today will be 10 days. I've not really known anyone before that has had a miscarriage and this whole ordeal has been one of the hardest things I've ever gone through but I can say that coming here and seeing that I'm not alone and knowing that there is so much support out there has been a saving grace for me! Thank you ladies!

As adgal said if you are soaking 2 pads within an hour, then i would contact the dr.
I had d&c june 17th, no period yet, my hcg levels were 29 two days ago.

I will keep you in my prayers, if you need to chat im anytime.

I had my last d&c on June 1st, and my body is still way out of whack.  My first period afterwards was actually lighter then normal, but heavier or lighter are both common after a   miscarriage and D&c.  I am now looking for my LH surge and am on day 12, and still nothing.  Its common, and unless its really heavy (more than a pad an hour), probably nothing to worry about.

Take care

your periods can be all messed up after the d and c.  with my first, i did not get my period til 7 weeks later and i think it lasted for like 7-8 days which it usually only lasts 3-5 days.  then with my second i got my period back 2 weeks later and it was normal.  if you do not stop bleeding within the next day or 2, i would call your doctor and let them know, but your periods can be a mess for a while.
