Heavy bleeding and passed large clots, cyst on ovary, hcg levels still rising

(TUES) Started bleeding and passing large clots about 9:30pm filling super tampons every 20 mins.  Largest clots 3in in diameter.  Arrived at emergency room about 12 am and blood test showed hcg levels at 1300.  Had an ultrasound that showed nothing but a cyst on my left ovary.  No sack, no fetus.  I would probably have conceived about a month ago.  I bled pretty heavy on and off and passed clots until about 4 am.  Talk of complete miscarriage w/a cyst or tubal pregnancy.  They sent me home and in the morning made an appt to see OB/GYN.  (WED) That afternoon my hcg levels were at 1400 another ultrasound confirmed cyst on left ovary, but nothing else.  Doc thought it was probably complete miscarriage w/ cyst on ovary, but wanted to monitor hcg levels.  Went back Friday to check hcg levels, they were at 2400.  Woman I spoke to said a posibility I am still pregnant, just too soon to see fetus.  I am still spotting on toilet paper when I use the bathroom, but just a very faint pink.  I am now scheduled to go back Monday to check hcg levels again.  Does anyone have any information for me?  I don't want to have any false hopes.  I lost a lot of blood.  My husband and I have been trying for our third child.  I have had 2 successful pregnancies with no problems like this.  I am 35 yrs old and my children are 11yrs old and 20 months old.

Ok I finally got into the Doc(Last Friday) Because i Was having Light Bleeding, He did a Hand Abdomen exam after a positive urine preg test done earier  an hour earlier by the nurse, By accounts of my LMP i'd be 8 weeks b/c of the bleeding he scheduled me for an U/S on Tuesday ( I was sheduled to work on Monday), Saturday however The Bleeding was Heavy i went to work with no other complaints besides the heavier bleeding sunday however i went to work and developed a dull cramp like pain which i thought might have been because i was on my feet all day i work long hours where i dnt really have anytime to sit down. to air on the side of caution i rescheduled my U/S for the following day. well monday morning i woke up with heavy bleeding nd cramps whether i was laying sitting walking no matter what i was in pain. FINALLY i get in to do the ultrasound nd he didnt see any baby or sac or any evidence at all really that a pregnancy even occured. He did however find a Cyst on my ovary ( as if i needed anymore stress in my life). He also checked my tubes to R/O Ectopic. The Doctor ( not the ultrasound tech) ordered a HCG Level Test becuz he says that it's still a possibility itz to early to see the baby the results should be in sometime today & im scheduled to do another wednesday. Since U/S i'm had the same heavy bleedin nd even worse cramps( to the point where i wake up multiple times throughout the night moaning and trying to reposition myself in a postion that relieves even the slightest bit of pain. So im wondering could i still be pregnant? Can The Pushing on my abdomen cause the cyst to rupture Causing the bleeding nd Cramps? oh and i dont kno if this makes a different or not but wen he did the U/S it was TransAbdominal not TransVaginal...Right Now Im a Wreck I feel Lik My Body Is betraying me and the Not Knowing i think is the most emotional part every time i think about it i break down nd cry. I looked up Blighted Ovum But mostly it says wen theres a sac with No Baby but what happens when theres Nothing there?? ugh any insight would definitely help and hopefully 2morrow will be a better brighter day.

Thank you so much yes I have a million questions. I'm so happy for you all those years of trying and now pg with your 3rd. Congrats. I will be thinking of you! Please keep me posted. When are you having your u/s? I'm due july 20th. I don't think I will make it that far. I'm already 1 centimeter, I feel like I'm more now. I have an app tomorrow so it should be interesting to see how far along I'am. I'm going to breast feed and then start the bottle at night. I will use my milk tho. I tried with my older two but they were so big and my baby was in the niccu for a month so I was unable to. My kids had such bad belly issues from the formula I don't want this one to have to deal with it. There is so much in terms of proper position and I never knew you could get nipple damage. I think I may take a class in the beginning of July it can't hurt. I will at least try and if it doesn't work then I will use formula. How long did you breastfeed for? Thanks for the help!

I really appretiate your input.  My dr appt is tomorrow morning.  They are going to check my levels again.  If they are at least 5000, they will do another u/s.  You sound busy with 3 kids & 1 on the way.  I have 2 boys.  My oldest will be 11 the beginning of July & my little one is 20 months old.  We didn't plan it that way, but we tried for years and all of the sudden there he was.  We had pretty much given up.  Now we are trying for one more.  I've enjoyed breastfeeding both my boys.  If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.  What is your due date?
Thanks again,
Kim

It sounds like you are about 4-5 wks maybe alitle more or less. So it may be too soon to see the baby in a u/s. I would def have them do frequent blood draws. Typically numbers rise every 48-72 hrs and most of the time they double however mine never do and I have 3 kids and 1 on the way. Every woman is different so if someone tells you what they may have gone through may not be the same for you. You usually can see the baby at anywhere from 6- 9 wks. Your bleeding could be a broken blood vessel or left over implantation bleeding etc. It honestly could be anything.  The most accurate way is taking the first day of your last period.  You can use the pregnancy tracker on here and it can give you an idea of how far along you are. I'm going to breastfeed this time around. I tried it with my older 2 but my first was so big it was hard and the middle one just wanted the bottle she couldn't be bothered. I'm going to a breastfeeding group etc. How many kids do you have? Keep your chin up and try to get into your dr's asap. I'm here if you need to talk!

Thanks AP that does help.  I sat here and figured out that date of conception was May 10th.  I had taken 2 pregnancy tests on the 9th and they were both neg.  My husband was in an accident the 11th and school ending the 29th for my older boy, things have been crazy around here.  So I'm still not sure what part of the pregnancy process I am in.  Should they be able to see something by now on the u/s?  I rest as much as my 20 month old lets me.  He's a little stinker though.  Loves to get into everything :)  I am still nursing him at nap time and bed time.  He won't drink anything but water, turns his nose up at milk and even juice.  We are working on weening him.  My first one nursed till he was 2 1/2 (just for bedtime).

Hey there I'm 33 wks pg and when I was 12 weeks I began to hemorrahage and thought I was losing the baby. The blood was bright red and clotts etc. It was painful and awful. I was diagnosed with a subchroniac hematoma the dr's were not sure but said it most likely was caused by the placenta growing. I was told it should dissolve well it didn't the clot began to out grow the baby and would not allow my placenta to move up and caused it to cover my cervix. I was on progesteron vaginal suppositories and like every other day in and out of the dr's er and having u/ss done. If I had a nickel for everytime my dh and I were told we were going to lose the pg we would be rich. Bleeding is a very common side affect of pg especially early in pg.  It is scary and really just torture but it happens all the time. Sometimes you can't get a reason why. I would for now stay clear of heavy lifting and sex and would try to rest as much as possible and try to stay well hydrated. Keep your feet up etc. When we are pg we are so vascular we can bleed at the slightest things. I hope this helps I'm here if you need to talk!

Thanks for replying.  I haven't used tampons since that first night.  I didn't even know I was pregnant till I got to the hospital and did the bloodwork.  I do go back in this monday to have blood drawn again and should know my numbers by 12pm.  He wants to do another u/s when my hcg# hit 5000.  They have told me if my pain level or anything changes to go to the emergency room.  I guess my only other question is how could I still be pg after losing all that blood?  I bled pretty heavily 9:30pm-4am.  I am exausted!  I probably would have conceived about a month ago maybe a little less.  I had a false period a couple of weeks ago.  I don't know the exact date and they can't measure since they can't find anything.

I had a really bad reaction to a sulfa drug back at the end of March.  I took Bactrim DS for a UTI.  It took me 5 wks to recooperate from it.  Severe joint pain and fatique.  I hope the drug didn't mess up my system.

I'm sorry you are going through this. My advice is to stop using tampons it could cause an infection if you are having a m/c you want all of it to come out. I had a cyst while pg that is normal they usually dissolve sometime during pg. Most women get them right before their period and they dissolve during. I'm suprised they were unable to see anything in the tube. Usually not always but most of the time if your numbers are over 1000 you can usually see something but not in every case. How many wks are you. I would not wait to long to get back in and have your blood drawn and have another u/s. It is common for hcg levels to rise during a m/c but I haven't heard of them rising a thousand numbers. However with anything can happen and every pg and woman are different. I wouldn't throw in the towel yet. I would try and rest as much as possible. If you need to get a 2nd opinion. Good luck and let me know what happens. I wish you and your baby the best!

I wanted to add that I had mild pain in my back and abdomen while I was bleeding and still do.  I guess my main concern is a tubal pregnancy.  I don't want to wait till it ruptures to find out that is what it is.  Thank you all so much for any help you can give me, I am so greatful for this sight.
