How does anyone after m/c track ovulation again?

Probably too premature for me to even ask this, since my m/c just ended, but how in the world am I to know what I should begin TTC again?  I know my OB wants me to wait until after my next cycle to start, but then I am sort of flying blind on when I will O.  Does it just sort of fall back into the old timing, or is it just all unpredictable?  I bet you'll tell me that it's different for everyone, and there's no magic bullet theory.  Can I buy the magic theory and apply it to me? Just kidding.  sort of.

hi ladies, i was told the uterus remains contracting after a m/c that is why many ppl do become prego soon after, however the reasons docs wishes one wait a period or 2 , is to be able to tell the due dates, to make sure the baby is growing according date, and to ensure that the lyning of the uterus has thicken and able to support the baby.

however, with a n.m/c timing is not required, so many ladies go right ahead to ttc again.

i hope this helps.

I m/c early dec 08 got my first period about 38 days on Jan 21 which my cycles are about 32 days so not horribly far off then i spotted all the month of feb and haven't gotten a period sense but all pregnancy tests have come back negative.. i went into my OB and she told me that it takes time for your body to get back to normal sometimes.. i hope your one of the lucky few who don't have to go through all this.. its frustrating but if your not just know its normal.. and i've come to the conclusion if your a EWCM watcher or a Cervical Position watcher.. right after a m/c that stuff just goes out the window cuz its all over the place.. LOL i like.. i think AP's advice when your ready.. just bed all the time.. LOL make a game out of it or something is what we try to do :) see if the hubby can keep up lol

Best of luck to you i hope everything gets back 2 normal for you soon..

I have read that the first cycle or so after you m/c you may not even ovulate so it might be tricky to tell.  On the other hand I have heard, like Jenny, that you are more fertile after m/c.....its great that this is all clear as mud right??? LOL

I had my m/c in mid feb. and I am still waiting for my first cycle after the m/c...I'm 32 days since the d&c and feeling really anxious, which I know doesn't help...but I can't help it....feel free to talk or message me anytime...I know this is a frustrating time....

I'm so sorry about your m/c, and especially so close to your wedding.

There could be a couple of different things that may be happening.

Was there any amount of huge stress in your life right around the time you expected to O?  If so stress can cause you to O late, in turn causing AF to be late.

What brand of HPT are you using?  Some don't test until your HCG levels are up to 100.

Or, it could be that you are pg and just have a late implanter.

If you are very concerned you can always call your dr and ask for a beta blood draw.  This will give you the exact level of where you HCG is at and will tell you for sure.  Best of luck to you.  Please let us know what happens.

I had a miscarriage this last Dec, just a week before my wedding day me and my husband were very hurt about it...after though my period came normally, for jan and feb but then this month i was suppost to start the 13th...so i am almost a week late, yet all the tests have came out neg. Im kind of confused...could this be caused from my m/s or could i in reality be pregnant? how long should i wait...it scares me bc ever since i started when i was 14 it has always been to the week even the day right on schedule...??? help!

Yes. I chose not to wait to recover. Again personal choice. I was one of the lucky ones like Bam mentioned soemhow my cycle was unaffected and I got pg with my son right away. I thought I would never be able to carry another child since having so many m/cs. I kept my chin up and stayed positve. I find whatever works for the individual is the best route to take. Whatever you choose Best of luck to you......

It's a really personal decision on how long you decided to wait.  I m/c at 8 weeks and my dr said we could start again after one cycle.  The most typical answer is 1 - 3 cycles for physical and emotional reasons.  Also you want to make sure that your uterine lining has built back up enough to sustain implantation.

Lots of women cycles can get a little screwy after a m/c.  I was one of the lucky few that went right back onto schedule.  With as early as you were, I would think there is a good chance for you too.  As melo said, you can always do OPK's.  That will tell you when you have your LH surge, and you should O aprx 24 hours after that.  However, if you've never had a problem getting pg before, you may just want to try au natural to avoid all the added stress.  There are several different methods for tracking your cycle other then just OPK's, so if you are interested just let me know.

You are more then welcome to join our cycle buddies thread when you feel up to it.

did you begin TTC right after any of your m/c, or did you have to wait?

We bd'd every day with my son and this latest time.  Maybe that's just what we'll have to do. Its hard, though, because it feels a bit contrived after a few days (hard to get really into it, you know?)  For me, it's like a job after a few days, but I'm determined to get the job done!  I think I'll do the sticks, since I'm supposed to wait a cycle.  I really don't want to wait, though.  What would happen if I didn't wait?  Seriously, what would happen?  I'm so impatient.

After my m/c I just used a lot of the test sticks. My O was several days later than I had expected it to be. I tested a good week before I got the smiley face. That's the best way to tell what you're body is doing. It costs a little bit but it's worth it for your peace of mind.

I was told by my obgyn the first two weeks after a m/c that you are most fertile and to also use the day your m/c started as your fst day of your cycle. You can either use the tracker on here, use a opk or do what I did and bd everyday. Best wishes to you . Good luck....
