I went for a second sonogram today and it confirmed that the baby had passed at 8 weeks. I feel better going through with a d&c. Thank you everyone for your advice and hopefully I'll have better luck in a couple months...
Pretty much the same think happened to me. I was 11 wks 3 days when I found out my baby had no heartbeat as of 8+6. I was 12+5 when I finally passed the baby. My doctor was fine with me having the process at home. And I DiD not want a D&C.
I have to be honest it was the worst pain I've ever felt by far. Extremely sharp pains in my back literally every 2-3 minutes for 18 hours straight. It was non stop. I was able to get a little bit of sleep after doping up on Tylenol and Ibuprofen . But once I woke up it didn't help anymore.
But my sack came out in tack and I could see my baby floating in there. I took em out and layed em in a container for a few days. I found a website called heaven'sgain.com and got a little casket. Unfortunately baby had deteriorated by the time it gotto me (just a few days later)
If you want that you should go ahead and get the casket now so that you'll have it ready. It was about $75. Sorry for the loss of your precious little one and God Bless. All that pain was worth it to get to see that tiny little baby :)
If I had a girl she would have been Zara Brielle and a boy would have been King Braylen so I chose the name Zion Bailey since I didn't know the sex.
Every woman has a different experience for natural and d&c.
Unfortunately its hard to know how long it will take to start and finish, it all depends on how quickly your hcg level is dropping. Have you had any spotting?
I don't want to worry or scare you but if you chose a natural miscarriage then it could take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to start and you could bleed for up to 10 days (you will experience pain/discomfort and heavy bleeding) and if it doesn't complete itself then you may have to have a d&c to remove anything that's left.
Has your doctor recommended anything? You should talk to you doctor about your options asap.
I would suggest a blood test to see where your hcg level is, it might help to you how decide what to do. My level was 27000 so I knew it would take weeks to drop, so I chose the d&c, I bled/spotted for about 7 days afterwards and my period started 4 weeks after the operation.
Thank u all for your comments. I feel so scared today. I know the baby is gonna come out but not knowing when is scary. I don't know what to expect. Is it like a regular miscarriage? Is it painful? Do I just go to the bathroom and its done? I don't know what to expect
I've been through a missed miscarriage twice, most recently was 7weeks ago. Went for a scan at 10w and heartbeat had stopped about 8weeks.
To ease my mind I went straight for a blood test, I knew once I got my hcg level then id know if there was any hope, unfortunately my levels were about 27,000 which is way too low for 10wks. I chose the d&c, it helped me heal quicker both physically and emotionally.
Most likely your doctors will recommend a d&c but it is your decision.
I'm sorry for your loss
i have the same situation as you. i waited for 1 week for my cervix to open my ob give me some medicine and she also inserted some medicine on my vaginal. after that i have d&c operation to clean it up. i'm sorry for your loss.
It sounds like a missed miscarriage. I haven't had one just a regular miscarriage. Missed miscarriages are pretty common. They will probly make you have a d&c. I'm so sorry for your loss :/ I know how awful it is to know baby didn't make it. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a healthy pregnancy next time :)
It's up to you if you want the d&c or they can give you medication to start the miscarriage but I hear that it is very painful.
I'm sorry for your loss I know how you feel I have suffered 2 of them and they neither of them were easy.
