Pregnancy advice needed!! is this a miss carriage?
Ok im going to describe my situation as best i can.
well on feb. 16th 2009 i found out i was pregnant.
so i have been going to the ob/gyn for check ups once a week to make sure im on track.
the doctor i go to is just a quack!!!
Usually with an ultra sound they are supposed to be able to tell how far along a woman is. or by the HCG readings and also by last menstrual period. they havent been able to give me an estimate of how far along i am what so ever.
for the past couple weeks i keep getting told im about 4 weeks. how can i be 4 weeks for 2 weeks in a row??
any ways...
well on my last ultrasound the yolk sac finally showed up in the gestational sac.
But there is still no embryo or fetal pole.
and they right away told me its highly most likely a miscarriage.
and last time i had my quants checked they were 2,844. now todays results were in the 16,000's.
could it be that im just to early to see any of what they expect to see??
or could i really be misscarrying??? please advice?? im really scared..

I went to the doctors today and had my HCG levels tested again. now in my recent post i had told you they were in the 16,000's. my HCG levels are now in the 13,000's. So my doctor has another appointment set up friday to test my HCG again. she says its possible they can rise and lower and rise and lower and my pregnancy be alright. but the way they havent seen a fetal pole, a heart beat, nor an embryo on the ultra sound doesnt look good.

ginhut03- No problem. Again it was so warm and so welcoming of you. Your cl would be so happy to see your support in welcoming the newbies. Congrats on your due date October is one of my favorite months. How are you feling? I hope your baby comes on the 8th. Do you want to find out the sex of the baby or do you have any ideas about what you are having. I couldn't agree more the women on each forum are whonderful. Take care....

AP-Thanks!! My due date is October 11 (although I would love to have it on the 8th as that was my dads bday!) My husbands bday is also that month so that will be a great present for him!! I am so greatful that I found this site for this pregnany....I only wish I would have found it for my miscarriages!! All the girls on here are great-on every forum!!
ginhut03- That was so sweet of you and very welcoming to her! That is what everyone needs support like that. Congrats on your pg. When is your due date? My son was a october baby I love the month.

I agree with the others....maybe it was too early, I would def wait on another US since you HCG levels seems to be rising so great! Let us know and I think you would be due in October some time, you should check out our forum....alot of us on that forum are also on this one!!
It may just be you ovulated later than what you thought. That happened with my older daughter I was off by a week. Good luck on monday I will be thinking about you!

Well I took a look at my ultrasound picture that i had gotten 2 weeks ago and compared them to some 4 week u/s pictures online..and they do show some similarities. i am hoping i'm just too early to see the baby.

My periods are very irregular. and the first day of my last was dec. 27 and it lasted until jan.3
and then i didnt get one in feb nor this month obviously.
I have another check up on monday. ill let you all know if anything changes. thanks for the help so far

I'm sorry for everything you are going through. The most accurate way to figure out days is measuring the baby, until you see the hb it would have to be the hcg. As long as the numbers are rising usally every 48-72 hrs the pg is progressing. Unfortuneately there is not exacts early on. I would for your own peace take the first day of your last period and use the pg tracker on here and enter it in and see what it gives you for a due date.. I'm not a dr but my best guess is you are due in late october. I found out I was pg with my But oldest on feb 11 and my due date was oct 17. It really depends though on your period and if they are irregular etc. I would req another u/s and have some repeat bloodwork done. I don't want to give you false hope but so many times due dates are wrong or dates are off. I know it's a hectic and crazy time but try to hang in there. Best wishes to yoiu and your baby. Sorry your going through this. To me it sounds as if it may be to early to see the baby. Do you have a follow up appointment? My prayers are with you, please keep us posted.
ive heard of these cases before where the dr say that your going to miscarry cause they can see the sac but not an embryo , but so many times they have been wrong if your hcg is going up and not down then thats a really good sign , your drs do sound a bit quack , how far along do you think you are ?? do you know when your lmp was ?? have you had any cramps or bleeding ?? maybe and i really hope so thats its just to early for the little bean to show up yet and i pray it goes well for you , i had a mc at 7 weeks on dec 15th it was the crappiest christmas ever , but my hcg was dropping not rising and when i had a scan it was gone:(
