12 weeks after miscarriage and no period?

Hello Ladies...this is my first time posting in this community but I'm going crazy and my OBGYN doesn't seem to have the same since of urgency or worry that I have.

My husband and I had a miscarriage on October 10th, I was only 5 weeks along and I was able to pass everything naturally within about four days.  There didn't seem to be any problems or complications in the process.  Well it's now been 12 weeks and I've not had a period.  My GYN started me on Provera six weeks after and it didn't work.  I had some light spotting for one day but that was ruled out when they did a progresterone test and found the levels too low to be ovulatory.
My worry is this...about five years about I have a medical abortion at about eight weeks.  There were no complications and my periods resumed to being normal, I was however, on the pill after that so I imagine I was regulated by that.  But could this be the reason for my delayed period now??  I just don't understand what's happening or know what to do.  I've never had problems in the past...We want to TTC again ASAP but that's impossible without a period.

PLEASE HELP...any insight would be helpful..

Thanks for your response...I'm so confused!

I had an ultrasound about two weeks after the MC and everything "looked fine" and I've been in for blood work three times...each time showing I wasn't pregnant again.  My dr. wants to put me on Provera again b/c he said it may have been too early before.

This whole process is so frustrating.  12 weeks is a really long time and my Dr. keeps acting like its no big deal.  I'm thinking about scheduling an appointment with a RE.

I've never missed a period before...never had any issues...this is crazy!

Have you had an ultrasound to make sure that everything passed?  I have heard of some stories of some women who have a miscarriage only to find out that they were having twins and one baby survived.

12 weeks is long and doesn't sound right to me.  If your OB won't listen to you then I would suggest getting a second opinion from another dr.  Is it possible that you could be pregnant again?
