I had a D&C in April and had my period maybe 7 weeks after. It takes a little while for it to start back up again. I would recommend waiting a couple of cycles to try again so that you have a better idea of when the next child was conceived. Otherwise, you'll be guessing and measurements will be off. Plus, it's better to let yourself heal emotionally. I'm glad that I waited a little while before I tried again because I was able to accept the loss and wasn't so afraid during my current pregnancy. We got pregnant again in July and next week I'll be in my third trimester.

Good luck girls! Oh, and I know that you will need this for your next pregnancy: There is a cheap doppler on Amazon for around 30 bucks called AngelSounds. It works SO well! It kept me calm whenever I would worry about the baby. It's small and I could easily take it out and find the heartbeat.

Hi. i had a d&c on dec. 16 and am hoping to get pregnant again asap.  But-- It can take 4-6 weeks (or more) to ovulate after a m/c, depending on how far along you were.

I had a previous (natural) m/c at about 6 weeks, and it took 4 weeks until my hcg levels reached 0.  I was pregnant again rtight after that, and they figured my conception date was about a week after I reached 0.  So, I must have ovulated around that time.

This time, I was 12 wks along, so I am expecting it to take a little longer to reach 0 and ovulate again.  I am going to get bloodwork done this week to find out.

On the other hand, I have heard of women getting pregnant within a few weeks  of a d&c.  Everyone is different.
