ectopic pregnancy

Has anyone had an Ectopic Pregnancy? I am still in pain after 3 weeks of receiving the Methrotrexate injection and I am wondering if it is normal.
Thank you

No worries,  I hope its eased your mind a little.
I know its really scary afterwards and still upsetting.
If you call your GP and tell them your still having pains etc and u think there could be an infection they should do checks.
You dont want to leave it as it can cause damage ( Dont want this to worry you)
Its common and can just be cured by medication.

My HCG  levels where normal then suddenly dropped, im glad you didnt have to go through with the op is never nice.
I was in to much pain to even think about anything else at the time.

Thats a good sign i didnt have a period for about 4months afterwards and then my periods where irregular.
I hope all goes well and your fully recovered in no time!
Take care yourself x

Hi, Thank you for responding to my question.
I'm sorry about your loss. I can imagine how hard it was for you to have the operation. They were going to operate me as well but at the end they decided to just give me the methotrexate injection since they said that the embrio was not that big and I havent seen my doctor since. My HCG levels were always really low since the begining of my pregnancy, I had extreme pains but they (my doctor's nurse) always thought it was normal due to implantation since I had no bleeding until they realize my HCG levels were not increasing as much as they suposed to and they ordered an ultrasound in which they found out it was Ectopic.

It does make me feel better knowing that the pain may remain after a few months, it's always good to hear it from someone that went through it as well. I never thought it could also be an infection so I will definitely try to get a check from my Doctor as soon as I can.

This coming thursday I'm scheduled for another blood work and hopefully my HCG is zero so I can see the doctor.
The good news is that just yesterday I got my first period since the pregnancy and for some wierd reason the pains went away. I'm hoping this is the end of it but I will still try to see my doctor to make sure and check.

Thank you so much for your advise. I hope that you are fully recovered by now :-)
Take care and my best wishes to you

Thank you so much for your advice. I did actually called my doctor but he would not give me an appointment until my HCG levels go down to zero.
This coming thursday I'm scheduled for another blood work and hopefully my HCG is zero so I can see the doctor.
The good news is that I got my first period since the pregnancy just yesterday and for some wierd reason the pains went away, I'm hoping this means that everything has passed as you said but I will still try to see my doctor to make sure.
Thanks again :-)

Hey at 18, I had an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube last July, wich burst and i was taken into theatre.
Was meant to be an over night operation n i couldnt sit up/walk etc for more than a week .. and then still suffered with pain after for months.
Every body is different and takes different time to heal.
If your really concerned just go see your doctor and explain they do checks.. you could have an infection.. if this is the case they will prescribe you anti biotics, dont leave it.
Better to be safe than sorry :)
Sorry for your loss.

I have not had an ectopic pregnancy but I think if you are still in pain you should go and tell your doctor and ask for an u/s to make sure everything has passed.

I hope that helps
