miscarriage negligence

hi I am currentlucky waiting for an operation to remove my baby. I went to my 12 week scan and found my baby had passed at 7 weeks. now I went to see my doctor at 6 weeks because I had a show of blood. He gave me an internal examination. I've since heard that you should not have an internal examination until 12 weeks into your pregnancy? also the fist sign of a silent miscarriage is a show of blood. should this doctor have done more for me and is there any negligence here? any help would be so greatful.

Thank you so much for your help. as awful as it sounds it's such a comfort to know other people have gone through the same.

So sorry to hear. I was shocked to hear the response that miscarriage before 12 wks is extremely common. So common no-one wanted to attempt giving me an explanation. It was my first so unless it happened 3 times consecutively, my gp said they wont do anything.
Im not in a position to say whether there was negligence in your situation but a my gut feels that a normal pregnancy should breeze through 12 weeks (only after this time can there be sone intervention if there are danger signs) but unlike ours, ive accepted it wasnt meant to be.
I found the bleeding and clots were the worst(where some were bigger than my thumb!), the grey fetal matter felt like a little gush without any pain..maybe it had already disintegrated but i found it to be small. Take good care of your recovery and cry as much as you like. It isnt an easy process but all i can say it does get more bearable. I still well up in public when i see new mums or young babies because that shouldve/couldve been me but overall i am finding peace with it.

There wasn't actually a scan at 6 weeks I just went to see my local doctor and he told me to go home and rest for a few days.. He could of sent me in for an early scan but didn't. I feel like if I had gone up at 6 weeks then at least I would have known something could be wrong. Instead I went up at 12 weeks expecting to see fingers and toes and come out with nothing. yes that's also happened to me.. I started passing blood the same night I got home from my scan. its not at all painful though which makes me think maybe it's not coming away yet? All the women I have spoken too have said when the baby comes it's really quite painful.. Thank you so much for your support.. as you probably know a little goes a long way in these situations!

I am so sorry for your loss. With missed miscarriage, it is usually destined to happen and theres nothing we can do to stop it. Our bodies are amazing and can detect pregnancies that arent viable. Only the fittest can survive.
What was the result at 6 weeks after the internal scan? Sometimes they detect a heartbeat at 6 weeks and come a few weeks later, there could be no heartbeat, so it is not clear. Ive heard of ladies who had internal scans before 12 weeks, so it seems it can be done if need be.
I had a miscarriage 7 wks ago too, scan at 12 weeks, fetal demise at 9wks5 days and only started to naturally miscarry a few days after the scan. Hubby reckons once we accept the news, our body goes into work mode to get everything out. I was lucky mine happened naturally (went to a&e to make sure i wasnt bleeding too much and they gave me the pill that induces things) and after a follow up two days later all was clear. Bedrest and warm soup (protein and iron rich) will soon put you on the mend.
I wish you strength and take comfort that your angel is looking down on you.
