missed miscarraige information!!

5 weeks ago i had a missed miscarraige.. I went for the ultrasound and it showed a gestinationl sack a fetal pole but no heart beat measuring at 11 weeks.
My bloods were only 11000 or something.
What does all that mean. Was there a baby in the sack and were my blood levels too low

there most likely was a baby in the sac, but measuring a fetal pole at 11 weeks gestation there should have been a very clear heartbeat, this can usually be seen from about 6 weeks to 6 and a half for most people anyways, the HCG Serum levels are an indication of pregnancy and the levels vary alot from woman to woman, 11000 i imagine would be quite low for 11 weeks, BUT as I understand it the HCG levels plateau at around 9 weeks gestation, using myself as an example my levels at 9 weeks would be around the region of well into the hundreds of thousands by my count, but like i said they plateau and drop around 9 weeks, the likelyhood is that the babies heart stopped beating earlier on in the pregnancy and it wasnt found until your scan, I am very sorry to hear about your loss and  I wish you a good recovery and all the best for the future :)

I learned I had an m/c at the dr. office for my 7 week visit. There was no heart beat to be found and no blood flow. My levels were normal except for my progesterone levels; I was put onto prometrium right away even though my levels were -.12 for what the doctor wanted me at. Anyhow I understand the pain of going through an m/c and having to see it on the u/s screen. Just remember even though you had an m/c you can still get pregnant and still give birth to a healthy baby. Being positive is the best cure even though it can be hard sometimes. Good luck for the future and sorry for your loss.

i agree with beanie485. a normal miscarriage is when you start bleeding/cramping then find out the baby has no heart beat and the body gets rid of the pregnancy on it's on. a missed miscarriage is when you have no miscarriage symptoms (bleeding, cramping) and then usually go in for a check up to find the baby had passed usually days or weeks ago without anyone know.

i am sorry for your loss. hang in there.

if i'm not mistaken a missed miscarriage means that you lost the baby but your body did not expel the fetal tissue on it's own which is why it was missed you didn't know you lost the baby, I'M SORRY
