spotting after miscarriage
hello everyone,
I had my spotting begun on june 29th,2010.Went to my doctor,had an u/s and i had only 4weeks sac without fetal pole when i'm supposed to be at 6 weeks(i'm sure of my dates).doctor told that i started to miscarry and no intervention needed.Finally i had cramps started on july 2nd and i had cramps for 3 days and i bled like my periods(didn't bleed heavily).
Returned to my doctor after 2 weeks and had an u/s.my uterus was empty but they can see some clots at my cervix and my doctor told me probably i'll bleed lightly for another 2 weeks.Went to the doctor again after 2 weeks,still i'm continuously spotting with some lite bleeding.Again had an u/s and the same findings but with less clots at cervix.My doctor didn't do my hcg levels and he said it may take another 2 weeks.I took a home pregnancy test and it came out clear negative.On august 12th ,2010 suddenly i started bleeding bright red blood for one and half day and i saw few pieces like tissue coming out with bleeding(thought those were the cause of my bleeding).From then i again started to spot and with light bleeding till today.
Not knowing what to do?This is disturbing me psychologically.Is this common?Why i'm still spotting(almost its been like more than 6 weeks).Do i require d&c,actually i don't want to go for that.Thank u for ur patience.any solution for my problem?THANK U.

I'm glad you are doing well. I'm pretty good these last few days. I hit 4 days with no spotting last night whiich is the longest I have gone since the m/c. Still nothing since so I am feeling hopeful and normal. This has happened before though and then along came a spot of blood! I'm taking it day by day. If this is the end though we could be TTC next cycle. That would be nice to move on. I have had to go through boxes of baby clothes the last few days because of mildew in the basement and it has been a little sad.
I had no choice but to get the D&C. I think a natural miscarriage would be scary too. And haunting. I'm glad your bleeding has also reduced. I had the D&C twice and I even had retained product for weeks. Anything small that remains could leave you on a strange cycle for a while. Once the last is out it should end which is what I think happened for me.
I got my period 32 days after D&C even though I must have still had something in there which has made my doctor confused. I know it could take a while to get AF. I think I ovulated 8 days ago so should get my AF again next week.

Thank U dear for ur kind and supportive words.Yeah,we both are in nearly same situation.This is my first pregnancy and was psycologically so disturbed.Even though i keep giving support to myself this continuous spotting making me to remember my miscarriage.I just want to get rid of it.About my doctor, he is just doing ultrsounds,no other blood work and he just didn't even do my hcg levels.But i'm ok now without cramps and signs of infection(thanks to God for that).My home pregnancy test showed me negative.

Finally someone like me! I am in the exact same situation. I had a D&C end of June, then spotted up until a period, then continued spotting and even had a few small clots about a week after the period. I have spotted since every few days bright red. Haven't spotted since friday and I am just over 8 weeks since my m/c.
It has TOTALLY messed with me psychologically because that is a LONG time. You are lucky that your doctor investigated it though because mine just keeps telling me I'm fine and to wait it out even though I am so disturbed by it. I hope it has stopped for good but it just keeps coming back. Check out my tracker and you will see.
It isn't common from what I can tell because you are one of the few that I have heard of that has had this too. I started getting acupuncture early August and I think that has helped get rid of what was left and is helping the spotting stop. I am told as long as you aren't cramping bad or showing signs of infection that it will just happen. I had the D&C and still had tissue weeks later and even had had an ultrasound in the hospital to make sure the clots were gone. They would try to give you medication first to get rid of the clots before thinking a D&C was necessary.
I have been feeling so helpless for weeks. Treasuring the days between spots and feeling crushed all over again when I would spot thinking I would never get back to normal or that there was something seriously wrong. So, you are not alone. I think the acupuncture has been great because it targets circulation around the body and uterus for healing and becoming regular again. It also really helps with the stress of dealing with it all.
If there were something more wrong we would be experiencing obviously bad symptoms. Keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank u so much for ur response.Yeah i asked doctor whether i require d and c but he said it's just a sac and i don't need any and there'e nothing visible on ultrasound except for few clots at cervix.Yes i'm not bleeding heavil just.regular spotting,few times mild bleed(using liners).But the thing is i want all this to be over.It's been already like one and half month.THANKS AGAIN FOR UR RESPONSE.
i doubt you need a d&c especially since the baby never actually formed. They have done so many ultrasounds and i'm sure if you needed one, they would have done it by now.
everyones body is different. After a miscarriage it takes some time for your body to return to normal. as long as you aren't bleeding heavy (like going through a pad in an hour) i would not be worried. if you start getting fevers though make sure you seek medical attention as you may have an infection.
don't be scared to call your doctor if you are worried as well. i am sorry for your loss, everyone takes a different amount of time to heal. be patient and try not to stress.
