I think it could only do good if we were all to take a minute during the next five minutes after reading this to say a prayer for everyone that was in or is now in Japan or has/had family, friends, loved-ones, and colleagues there.  We all have so many problems.  But, it is practically unimaginable what that country and the people there have gone through and many will continue to go through.  

May God have mercy and shine his light on all of us.  And may God give all of us strength of endurance and allow us all to find some happiness and peace.  God, please, bless us all.  Amen.

My own personal challenges pale into insignificance when I read what some people are gong through in Japan. I don't think any of us can comprehend the enormity of the suffering and loss (unless perhaps someone was unlucky enough to have been in any of the other recent world disasters). However we can keep the people who are going through this in our prayers and hope that courage and strength is given to each and everyone who has survived this disaster.

I can't begin to fathom what they are going through, between the aftermath of the earthquake and the meltdown of their nuclear plant.  The news continues to be nearly impossible to watch...

May the people in Japan who are facing all these trials gain comfort in knowing that the rest of the world is holding them close in thought.
