Answers if plz

Good Day All,

I've been absent for some time but I'm back and I'm ok. Hope is well is with you folks out their and you're all coping with the daily roller coaster ride of MS.

Well I started my Betaferon shots on July 23rd and boy oh boy it's tough. Injesting myself is a hell of a job, I HATE NEEDLES!! Lol!, but i'm being a big girl and doing my best. I do have some questions and any help is appreciated.

- I have these huge red itchy spots from the injections, these I got from the first injections, and I'm not sure what I could use on them. I've been using ice which easies the itching a bit but that's it and I can't get in contact with my Neuro. What I could do to ease the itching and clear the spot? (There's a bit of a 'rashy' look on the spot)

- Also in terms of alcohol, is it ok to consume alcohol on the day that I don't have to take a shot? I'm a Caribbean girl and Fridays are our ultimate liming days and I looooove Heineken... :-(

- Could I take vitamins and which?

Thank you very much Sarah. I would search the site for any info. I'm using the ice which helps  ease the itching a bit, but I can't do it all the time, especially during the day when I'm at work and in the Caribbean we are now in the rainy season, so when it cold, like last night was, ice is the last thing I want to have close to me...Lol!!

Well I hope I get some more responses before this drops off the page.

Thank you and Take care

Hi Landa

I am not on DMD's so cannot give you any good advice as like you I hate needles and so have chosen to try and get on an oral drug trial instead.

I suggest that you "search this community" and look for other posts on itchy injections sites as it is a frequently asked question (although seems to be more thrn Copaxone injections I seem to recall) but there is some good advice.

Lulu, Quix, anyone???? I am wondering if some of the suggestions previously given to this question about itchy injection sites could be collated and made into a post for the health page (unless there is already something that I have missed).

Hope things improve soon and I am sure that others will be give you some good advice.

Best wishes

Sarah
