I was wondering what meds you're all on. My numbness seems to coincide with coming off of Cymbalta.
Hi again biscuits n beans,
I would think MS would be quite low on your list of possibilities, because it's very un-typical for MS to cause any sx's to be widespread, all over or in all peripherals. Basically because of how MS lesions work, these would be red flags leading away from MS as a possible cause and if it's presented or happened over a very short time frame, that too would put MS lower on your list of possible causes.
Loss of vaginal sensation's in relation to MS is associated with spinal cord lesions (there is a wide range of other more common conditions too) and although many causes have nothing to do with the spine structure or spinal cord, i'm thinking almost all (i'm not sure about the TN) the other sx's you've mentioned your experiencing, 'could' actually fall within this area too, so i definitely think it's worth considering the spine as a possible cause for what's been going on with you if it hasn't as yet been thought of......
Cheers............JJ
People with MS can lose sensation anywhere. Do I think you have MS? I have no clue. I always say start with a Neurological exam. A GP can do one. If it is abnormal they will send you to a Neurologist if it is normal it probably is not MS.
As far as fear I have a lot of medical conditions and I have learned to not be afraid. I have learned to take it one step at a time. If it is MS it can take awhile to diagnose. Neurologists usually follow you for a year or more.
You can treat symptoms before you have a diagnosis. My GP and my pain clinic treat most of my ailments.
