wouldnt chiari malformation have shown up in my previous mri's ??
I've heard that type of headache (worsens with cough or straining) could be related to Chiari Malformation. Another thing to look into is occipital neuralgia. Hope you feel better.
I'm just curios what a headache is if the brain can't feel pain? Is it muscles covering it? Hmmmm. Have a good night!!!
Hi Isabel, I'm new here! I was just wondering what your lhermitts feels like! I have the neck pain with the lump on the left side, it is very painful to press on it and the pain radiates up to the top of my head and down my spine....
Ouch is it!!! It hurts to move it any which way(neck) I tend to turn my head with my spine straight and can feel it down past my waist in my back!!!
My neck isn't stiff, I can still move it, it just kills!!!
Yesturday my hand cramped up too!!! Painful, but when it happens I love to chase my girls around the house because it looks funny!!! They run, don't worry they are 15 and 16!!!
It's just my way of dealing? It's my pinky and thumb get stuck into my palm.
Anyone get that??
Elie, my neck sounds similar to what you have!!! Very painful!!! I totally understand the helmet too!!!
I'm wondering if the scalp thing is a cramp or spasm, it gets tight and feels like the skin is pulling? Any ideas? I never get numbness, my understanding of something that is numb is a loss of feeling or no sensation, is that right?
I'm sorry girls for so much info, hope you feel better!!!
Hi I also experience pain in the back of my head towards the left. I have problems with my neck so I just believe that this problem is causing the ache that you talk about. Have you had an MRI of ur Neck? Also, do you feel numbness in your scalp? I have numbness and burning pain back left side and forehead and crown, I feel like I am wearing a 2 " Helmet.
After enduring this pain all day I am realizing it hurts like hell when I cough and really intensifies the pain any suggestions....
I know lulu it's one symptom always leads to something else the lhermittes cannot be helped but I have been holding my head in such a rigid way to avoid the shock that I have Bern haveinh some neck and back discomfort we will see if pt helps that....
I hear you about the 'roids. If you can avoid them, do. Save them for later in your disease course if necessary, but take them now if they would help.
As for the PT - I don't think is can do anything for the l'hermittes.
hang in there,
L
Thanks Lulu hopefully PT will help - trying to avoid the steriods for the lhermittes like the plague right now .................:)
Hi Isabel,
The human brain itself does not feel pain - it doesn't have the nerve receptors to sense pain. I'm thinking that also applies to the brainstem - does anyone out there know the answer?
You saying it hurts when you press of it makes me think there is something else out of whac k in that area.
If the pain doesn't let up you will want to discuss this with your doctor.
feel better,
Lulu
