CAN'T stopbshsking

Okay, I need input from y'all.

I've been on Amantadine several weeks and it seems to help a lot with energy and stamina.  Last three days I have taken one Flexeril at bedtime.  Since.Tuesday, ic, likeI'm  voice issue very sporadic "frozen in place" trouble with my tongue.  Split second and I was back to normal.

Now tonight it's intensified, and almost every sentence. Has an episode.  At dinner, Nancy first heard it
Before my second course is half gone, I have very shaky jandds and hkunbs.  She's driving me ti ER now.

Anybody ever react to amantaddine or Flexeril???

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your medications. Hope you are feeling better soon.
I work for a small town pharmacy and a website one of the pharmacists gave me for reference is epocrites.com.
Best regards,barb

Ok firstly no more giving JJ a heart attack whilst she's eating!

I am SO glad to hear your ok now or is that maybe ok now?

Why can't people get good side effects, like an all over sun tan, so you look like you've just got back from the Bahamas?! Let us know what your prescribing doc has to say, and if it happens again..... please :o)

Hugs...........JJ

Found this when I checked for interaction between those drugs.

The anticholinergic-like adverse effects of amantadine may be potentiated by agents with anticholinergic properties such as antihistamines, antispasmodics, class IA antiarrhythmics, neuroleptics, phenothiazines, skeletal muscle relaxants, and tricyclic antidepressants. The cumulative parasympatholytic effects of these agents may produce paralytic ileus, hyperthermia, heat stroke, and the anticholinergic intoxication syndrome. Peripheral symptoms of intoxication commonly include mydriasis, blurred vision, flushed face, fever, dry skin and mucous membranes, tachycardia, urinary retention, and constipation. Central symptoms may include memory loss, disorientation, incoherence, hallucinations, psychosis, delirium, hyperactivity, twitching or jerking movements, stereotypy, and seizures.

Note the Central symptoms of twitching or jerking movements.

Dennis

Well, I'm home, and feeling fine (well, the new "normal," as they say).  Thank you all for your prayers, etc.

It appears that perhaps I shouldn't combine the two.  I'm supposed  to contact MS neuro in the morning to discuss the Amantadine as a possible suspect, since it can cause tremors, shaking, etc.  Well, Nancy says I've been twitching a lot more in my sleep the past few nights, so we suspect the Flexeril must've triggered something, since I just started it Monday night.  I've been taking Amantadine for several weeks with no problems of which I'm aware.  [shrug]
