Clinical Trial

As a friend of the Rocky Mountain MS Center, we thought you might be interested in learning about a global research study – Allegro – that is now under way to explore an investigational once-daily oral drug for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS).

If you:

·  are between 18 and 55 years old,

·  have a confirmed diagnosis of RRMS,

·  have had at least one relapse in the last 12 months or two relapses in the last 24 months,

·  have never taken or used Tysabri or cladribine (Natalizumab or Lustatin)

·  and, have not been on an MS therapy for the last 2 months,

…… then you may be eligible to participate in the Allegro study.

Over the next 2 years, participants in the Allegro study will:

    *
Be randomly assigned to receive either study drug or a placebo (inactive capsule or sugar pill) at no charge.
    *
Receive study-related physical exams, MS-related assessments, and laboratory services at no charge to you.
    *
Be treated by a qualified medical team from a leading healthcare facility in your area.
    *
Attend 12 study visits during a 2-year period.

Hi Sue,

Welcome to the forum if I haven't done so already.  So many I'm having a hard time keeping track.

What type of symtoms do you have going on? You didn't have any in your brain in the past? Just spine?

I hope you get some help too.  Has your doctor done all the testing, etc? How long have you had problems?

Thanks for joining us, looking forward to getting to know you.

I'm Shelly, and was dx'd last year w/MS.  No matter what, you'll find so much support and information here with us.  As long as you don't mind all the questioning up front...lol

ttys,
Shelly

Hi,

No, I haven't been diagnosed yet.  I go for another MRI of my brain and spine next week.  It's so weird, how I'm hoping they'll see more lesions, just so I'll possibly get some help for some of my symptoms.  They've seen 2 lesions on my spine so far.

Have you been diagnosed?

Hi, Sue!

Thanks very much for posting about this!  It sounds intriguing.  I am the research coordinator for a plastic surgeon, so am always interested in studies.

We haven't spoken yet, I don't think.  Are you diagnosed?  Are you interested in becoming a subject for this study?

Thanks again, and feel well,

Momzilla*
