I had one High ANA test. The next one was lower. I do get a reoccurring "butterfly" rash on my face. That's why I was wondering.
I do get a positive ANA from time to time, but it's not high enough at 1:160 for a lupus diagnosis. The reason I was in Limboland for so long was because I thought it was lupus. I was only seeing rheumatologists for years until my sister was diagnosed with MS and then *I* decided to see a neurologist.
I think it would be very possible for people to have both MS and lupus because both are autoimmune diseases. I have a strong family history of autoimmune disease in my family. No one besides my sister has MS, but my family history on my mother's side includes a lot of autoimmune problems.
When I thought I had lupus, I have found out through research that a lot of people with MS have positive ANAs.
Hi there
I have discoid lupus - it only affects my scalp. I was diagnosed with it round about the same time I got my MS dx. No link that I know of.
