What i've discovered iw really handy is keeping all my medical files: lab results, MRI results, physician progress notes (my neurologist sends me copies of every thing that he sends my primary) on a flash drive.
When I get anything new, I scan it into my computer and put it on the flash drive. It's small enough that I can easily carry it in my purse. Then, if I'm traveling, or one of my physicians wants to know what my lab results were, there it is.

Good Job. It's very important to keep a file. It's very important to do this, as we are our own best advocate. Let us know your results.
Thats great, you should always request a copy of the test resuts and reports that way you have a file at home with your medical records.
This creats less hassle if you switch DRs and if your traveling you can take them with you.
I always ask for the reports and so forth to be either faxed or mailed to me,most facilities are willing,as long as I sign a consent form.
