I agree Dennis, you should go to ER anytime you have cardiac symptoms! That's scary! And to think you stepped into a hot shower!!!
Diabetes is so hard to regulate without medical procedures being introduced! My FIL was a "brittle" diabetic;my husband also diabetic. It's a pain, but you gotta watch those glucose levels! And steroids definitely increase the numbers!Take care-glad tomorrow is the last day!
Oh my... Take care tonight.
I hope you get some some rest! Do you feel tired at night but can't sleep? Or very energized?
I was always body tired like I over did it ... But wide awake.
I woke energized in the am though .. I could skip the coffe! :)
Actually the hot shower was the prefect answer if it was angina. The treatment for angina it nitroglycerin which dilates your arteries to increase blood flow. A hot shower does the same thing to the arteries in order to get the heat out of your body.
I did end up being able to eat dinner but feel like a rabbit. Had 12 oz of lettuce 3g of carbs, Buffalo Blue cheese Dressing 2g, grilled fish 0g, and 2 cups of coffee 2g. I usually have around 35g per meal. 2 hours after my dinner my glucose reading was 202. So I should be safe for tonight in that regards. Too bad the VA blew it on my first night. They knew I was diabetic and that steroids raise glucose in the body. So they should have checked my glucose that first day after the infusion and probably would have given me some insulin to bring it back under control.
Cann,
That first night probably wasn't a good test for the sleepiness and body tired. I probably had a fair amount of adrenalin in my body worrying about cardiac problems that naturally increased body energy.
Tonight I do feel less body energy already, but don't know yet about if I will get sleepy.
Of and the wildlife report for this trip. I did see one yearly deer on the trip up to the VA. I also saw what looked like a farmer using natural pest control in his field. At each end of the field their was a dog laying down in a small clearing like they were guarding the field from deer and such.
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
I just checked the site and saw you posted a response to another thread a few minutes ago. I have no idea what time it is where you live (it's 10.30pm here in Australia) but I saw you've been having a rough few days and just wanted to say I hope you are doing okay.
As to wildlife, we don't have many deer in Australia, but as I write the curlews are calling over my back fence (we live near bush land). Curlews are birds that are active at night and give a long, lonely, haunting cry. Some people call them 'murder birds' as they can give quite blood-curdling screeches at times. Enough to make you believe in ghosts!
Anyway, hope you are well,
Ava
