Dealing with bladder (finally)

I finally took the suggestion and talked to my primary about my the pain I was having and lack of elimination of urine. So classic bladder retention. Now we're going to do an ultrasound to check out my kidneys. Still going through pain. I am glad that all 3 doctors are in the same hosp. Uro., nero., and prim..so i feel good to have a medical team that can review my case together. I  insisted actually that they do....

This forum has given me so much information, I have a new level of confidence regarding my toxic affair with MS.
So I'm able to prepare for appointments with questions  pertaining to my immediate concerns @ that time. So now I may hav't to use a catheter. I've read the different threads. I see it's very common with MS. I'm feeling sad that now my nerves are sending whacky messages to my bladder.

Just when I get comfortable with this beast, it throws me a curve ball !!!!! I recently started Anonex. I'm hoping it will make a difference. (eventually).....I remain OPTIMISTIC !

No problem. My Dr. Prescribed catheters for me . GIRL you know I don't want to take them, I already tried it and could'nt get the tube into my uretha. So there was my first wasted catheter. Now I have to wait for the script to get mailed out.....So back to sitting on the "JOHN" .....your not alone this weekend. I must say catheters are a big relief...

I have a question about this, and I think maybe it is the time to ask now.  I'm so glad to have this forum to talk about things.

I too am having trouble.  I have the urgency, and have had little accidents.  Then we have the sit and wait all day for it to come, for only one drop, then you stand up, and it runs down your leg.

Then, we have the sit and wait, and then it comes, and you think you are done, but know you are not, then it is waiting again for the rest.  Then when you think you are done, and finally can stand up, it doesn\t feel like you emptied.

Is that what you guys are feeling?  I have been feeling it for awhile, and I am so not wanting to have this, as you all don't want it either.

(((HUGS))) to you all,
Candy

Sorry Francyna for adding to your post with my own stuff......:(

hey girl - welcome to the club.  We have been discussing intermittent self catherization (ISC) a bunch lately.  I hope you have seen those chats because we have had a lot of good informatin being shared.

ISC makes a huge difference and I am glad to read that is sounds like you are approaching this in a positive manner.  I would rather ISC every day that do kidney dialysis three times a week.  It is a no-brainer to do what we can to protect our kidneys and I'm glad you understand that.

Good luck and I am happy to answer questions as you think of them

hugs,
Lulu

You most definitely can keep track with me....I'm waiting on my Dr. to get back to me with  the next step.  I'm concern about infections. But I do  know having urine backed up to the kindneys is not good. So let me know what size catheter you use. Good luck to you.

Woot woot! Good job Francyna! It really is hard to tell them things some times, sometimes I feel they don't always ask us the question that would "make" us tell them, haha If that makes sense.

I hope you don't have to cath, but it will be important if you are retaining :(
Here's to that team getting you just the right answers and fix :)

Maybe you'll get lucky and it will be temporary. I'll join the ball team optimistic  you got going on!

I am having the same bladder problems and my Dr. mentioned wearing the catheter too.  However, it is not high on my list, maybe #3 or 4.  I have other isssues to do with first.

If I can keep track with you, it will be interesting to learn of your experience with a catheter.

thanks, meg
