Electric shock in head with muffled hearing

Anyone out there experience an electric shock feeling (separate from L'hermittes) that seems to explode between the ears and then the hearing goes muffled for just a second or too.  If it hits me hard I will actually grab my head.  I told my doc about it and she said it did sound familiar to her but gave me no information.  She ordered another MRI.

I have had that happen. The last time was just a few weeks ago. I couldn't tell if I heard it as well as felt it, or if it just seemed as though I heard it since it was in my head. It 'felt' loud. When things like that happen it's so hard to tell if it's something that happens to everyone, or if it is worth mentioning to the doctor. I would love to know what causes that.

I've been having exactly what your talking about (feel & hear the shock). I've been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia which is like neuropathy (chronic pain) but in the head.  Dr. isn't sure if there's MS in addition to it.  Testing in progress.  Hope they figure out what it is.  If they do, let me know - it's driving me crazy and increasing in frequency.  Good Luck!

Yeah, I had something similar happen to me at Cici's Pizza!  I was sitting there, not feeling very good (pre-diagnosis) and suddenly there was this buzzing, vibrating feeling in my right ear, that seemed to go through the head.  I had a hard time hearing - everything got muffled and indistinct.  No answer as to what it was - I'm guessing a nerve blew out.  ;-)
