Has anyone had these symptoms??/

I will be going to an MS specialist soon.  My physician says I have MS, a neurologist said that he doubts it and to wait and see.  With 2 young children and starting work in a month it's hard to wait and see...

I am completely exhausted (don't want to move!), blurry vision, 3cm lesion on right side of brain, left leg heavyness, tingles in toes and fingertips, depression (on antidepressant for it now) Did anyone start with this????   It's so hard being in limbo and not knowing why I feel horrible....

tumor was ruled out... as was lyme.

I was told if a spinal comes up positive it still may not be MS, HELP!

Don't love math. Do love finding out what's wrong so it can be named and treated, if maybe not cured.

Just hang in there and go through all the tests. It can be a long road, but you'll get lots of help here along the way.

Sending best wishes,
ess

Hello,
I have been having sx for five months.  I am not diagnosed but I know there is something wrong.  I Hqve four children.  In the beginning it was really hard since I was always exhausted.

Now, I take medications that help with the symptoms.  They way I see it, I have what I have.  No matter what it is.  As long as i can get through my days feeling okay that's all I care about.

If it is ms, the doctors will find it nd eventually I will get help with meds.
Try not to do too much.  I sounds like you hve. Great husband and that helps a lot.

I don't know how old your kids re but they can step up also if able.
You won't be able to do all of the things you did before.
I had to back down from extra stuff and it made a difference.

This heat isn't going to help you either.
The one things I realized since this all started is how important living is.
The house being a little messy is going to matter as much s being with my kids and enjoying them.

I've said enough.  I hope it helps.

thank you!!   Unfortunately I will be standing for 4 consecutive hours each Thursday and 3 consecutive hours each Mon - Wed since I teach college!!!   my husband is amazing but he is starting his own business now so he'll be busy as well...   blurry vision the eye specialist said was dry eyes and the black blob I have to go to a retina specialist.  the neuro said that I COULD get a spinal but if it's positive he won't treat me.... it'll just be if it's negative then I know it's not MS.   crock pot meals is a GREAT ideas... any recipes to share? :)

Djl,

HI there - welcome to the forum. Evie said it well, all you can do is get through the days, really, best you can because even if you were given a dx of MS already, you'd be dealing w/the same issues.
Fatigue is crushing for sure - I had it too for months. Is anyone around to help you out when you get back to work in the evenings? Brush up on crock pot meals, lol But, seriously, do what you can so you don't have to stand so much for long periods.

I'm glad you are off work now though so you can find a slow pace to fit in the needs of the family, and yourself. Rest as much as you are able.

There are however some things that can be helpful to you (meds) if the doc is willing to treat you during the workup. Did you bring up the fatigue? And, they know about the blurry vision? If so, what was said in that regard? Also, who ordered the tap? The regular neuro, or the specialist?

So sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a feel for how the workup is progressing and if the reg. neuro has offered any help w/symptoms.

Thanks for joining us,
-Shell

I hear your fear, confusion, and frustration. No one can say whether you have MS. There are so many things that are not MS which have the same symptoms. No test rules MS in or out I am afraid. Basically part of the diagnosis is ruling all other possibilities out. Up at the upper right you will find the health pages which have lots of information such as diagnosis.

I am truly sorry you have to be where you are in the process. Many times the diagnosing process moves slowly. I thought this is serious they will sort this out quickly. Why are they blowing me off? Some people get an answer quickly for others it can take awhile.

I will not tell you to be calm and wait that is not possible. I can only say your frustration is normal.

Hello dj,

I too am a mom of young children and completely understand where you are coming from.  I have been searching for answers to my symptoms for just about one year now...I am going for my third opinion next week.  Unlike yourself, I was told by the first neuro I had a lesion and the second neuro said I do not.

My advice is to keep yourself hydrated and try to rest as much as possible...I found that when I rest I can interact with the kids better..I also ask them to help out with little things.  I have also made some allowances for myself, ex: cooking, cleaning, etc.  some days I do it and some days I don't, LOL.  I hope you find an answer soon...

In solidarity,
