Hi everyone!

This isn't really a question....I'm just excited to find this place. My mother has PPMS. She was diagnosed with it back in early 02 or late 03. For the past 2 1/2 years I have been staying home to take care of her. She has gotten to the point where she can't do much for herself. It has been a real struggle...it's nice to have a place to go where people understand!

Oh, bummer!  You're a good person to take care of your mom when she's having such a hard time.

Welcome to the community, I'm also glad that you found us.

Thank you for caring about your mom. I KNOW that she appreciates all the time that you spend helping to take care of her. I helped to take care of my dad and my mom when they had cancer before they passed away.
You must have a big heart.

I hope that you can find some support on here to help you (and your mom).

Hi Minderz, welcome to the forum here.  I hope you will find lots of useful information on the site.  We have a  very open community, so please feel free to ask anything and everything you can think of.

Yes, your mother is fortunate to have you to help, but please remember that this is a task you don't and shouldn't  do alone.  Do you have other family members to help?

How about assistance from the social service agencies? If you want some ideas on how to connect with these services, please feel free to ask.

welcome again!

Thank you very much everyone!   My brother helps some too.  I don't get assistance from social services,  but it might get to the point that I will need to.

She can't be left alone for to long.  She can't move by herself.   But I have wonderful friends that help me get a break from time to time...I also have a 2 year old.  They watch him for me sometimes.
