Hi, everyone!

I'm at my local library, since my internet access is temporarily kaput. At some point on Weds. the FIOS guy is coming, and after that I hope all will be well. I know I've missed loads of interesting discussions during the past week or so. Hope to catch up but sometimes that's not possible.

I think I've had a bit of a relapse, or at least a pseudo-exacerbation. After the awful virus bug that bit me departed, for 2 or 3 days I had really awful pain in my legs and very low spine. Largely the areas that my regular symptoms occur, but much worse. I'd say a 7 or 8 on the pain scale, and Lyrica did nothing. I found some old vicodin that I didn't take after my surgery last summer, and that did help (if I took 2). I don't like taking opiates, so this is a worry for sure. I also had an episode of major brain fog. Couldn't organize myself to pay bills or do much of anything else. Now I know hwo that feels. A big Boo to that.

I hope everyone is reasonably okay. Will be back soon.

Thanks to all of you for thinking of me!  I'm back in the land of the connected, with a brand new wide screen laptop, and FIOS fiber optic data stuff. That part seems very 'not quite ready for prime time'--the guy was here for 4 1/2 hours and now one of my phones doesn't work. So more hassle is in store for me. Also, I'm doing my best to get used to a laptop's version of a mouse, but it's driving me crazy so my old and trusty mouse may get a reprieve.

I'm lucky to be doing much better in the pain department. My biggest issue at the moment is fatigue, which comes at odd times and on its own terms. Yesterday I did a bit of heavy cleaning, not all that much, and I was wiped out for the day, couldn't go to a class I have. It takes me so long to get things done!

Complain complain complain, so I'll shut up. I'm actually in a pretty decent mood, and send best wishes to everyone.

Hi Ess,

I sent you a pm last week, I was worried about you!!  I'm glad you posted.

I'm sorry you are feeling bad, and as Heather says, if you say the pain is a 7-8, it would probably be a 10 for the rest of us.

I hope you feel better soon, and get that internet connection all fixed.

Ready for you to be back here, I miss you when you're not posting!!!

Hugs,
doni

Good to hear from you.  I thought you were lost.  Now I understand why.

I have found after a virus bug, that MS symptoms will hit within one to two weeks.  Even a cold sore on my lip, Herpes Simplex 1 will cause a relapse.  A chest infection, etc.  You may be in for a few weeks of troubles from your MS or hopefully the exacerbation will be short.  Especially with you being on Avonex.  But be cautious and alert to an attack trying to rear it's ugly head.

You might want to notify your doctor now, that you are experiencing symptoms after fighting a virus.  At least keep it on record.  I did notice when I was on Avonex, that any "attack" that I had, was short-lived, as compared to not being on a DMD.  Hopefully the Avonex will do the same for you.

The pain you talk about must be pretty bad for you to take Vicodin.  I know you well enough, that you don't like taking anything strong.  You must have really been suffering and ARE suffering.  I hope you have enough pain medication to get you through the toughest part.  If you don't, please don't be afraid to contact your doctor, please?  When you are in pain and it's a 7-8, that's suffering you don't have to try to handle alone.  You are not a complainer, so when I see you post a 7-8, I KNOW how much you are hurting.

We miss you dearheart.  Feel better soon. I'll be praying for you.

Heather
