Hi Polina,

Thank you answering and for being so honest about your thoughts, very pleased to here you will call the Dr. You should not suffer w/these thoughts and depression.  As far as the pains, I'd say you could be dealing with side affects of the meds and it could pass, but I'm no Dr. and it's best you get that info from yours as soon as possible.

No worries with your English - it's great!

Please get back w/us and let us know how you make out.

Hi to all,

Thanks for the advices I will consult my doctor. I take Interferon 22 mgs and the pain is walking around my body: the head suddenly strong pain, than after few minutes its gone, pause, strong pain in the arm one or the other, then the leg one of them and so on. The next day strong depresion with crying and i wish i didn't exist, i should die and that stuff. Then next day everything is normal and then the next injection and all over.
I am tired. I cant stand this for long. I decide to take pills for calming, not to strong.
I hope you are all well and wish you all good health.

PS Excuse my English misstakes

Hi Polina,

Welcome back.

Can you describe your pain? Are you titrating up to the 44mgs? Being a month in, there quite possibly could be another culprit. But, like mentioned above, very treatable if it doesn't pass.

How was your depression (if you had it) before you started?

Hope you are able to get back to us.

ttys,

Alex and DJ are right - the prudent thing to do is call your doctor.  Depression is a known side effect of the interferon DMDs and can be treated.  Don't delay and make the call.

If its not the Rebif, it could very well be that you are reacting to your own situation (situational depression) or to the physical effects of the disease (chemical depression).  It is well documented that depression in MS patients is very common, and it can be caused by the disease itself or the effect of knowing you have this MiSerable disease.  I hope that makes sense.

be well,
Lulu

I also think you need to contact your Neurologist.

Hang in there,

Alex

Hi. I would suggest you talk to your Dr. asap... It is important that our Dr. know what is going on, otherwise it is difficult for them to give us the best of care.. Sorry I don't have more to suggest then this.

Hope you feel better soon...{{{~!~}}}
