Is it really Chronic Migraine or Something more?

For the last 6 years i have been dealing with health issues. Back in 09 I started to get ringing in my ear that has never gone away since. Then in 2010 I was having jaw pain and painful clicking and popping when i ate. talked, yawned etc. I went to a neuro muscular dentist but the guards he supplied me with never worked. So i lived with it for the next few years. Then in 2013 i was driving home when i began to get a sharp knife stabbing pain over the right side of my head, my eyebrow and my eye. Then my right eye began to become blurred and double vision. I was rushed to the hospital and they ran a ct and nothing was found so i was sent home. I went to countless doctors, they ran blood tests mri ct and some others and found no cause for any of my symptoms. I have had a constant migraine on the right side of my head and eye pain since 2013. Along with neck stiffness, weakness on my right side of my body, ear ringing, fatigue even after hours of sleep, sensitivity to light and sound, emotional changes in mood, Irritable bowel syndrome, Could i have something else or is it really an uncureable migraine i will [live with the rest of my life?? i also have shortness of breath and chest pain/ palpitations.

Thank you so much for the information I will definitely get it checked out. It's nice to know people out there believe I'm being serious when I talk about this condition

Hi there and Welcome to the MS Community!

I am so sorry you have had this all going on for so long. A lot of what you have said does sound like migraine but other things not so much. I would like to suggest a test that should be done to check something out but please understand I am not a doctor so please go and discuss this with your PCP or Neurologist.

There is a condition that is called Hughes Sydrome or APS/Anti Phospholipid Syndrome which people will typically suffer from horrendous migraines but also have other neurological things going on. It's basically sticky blood and this can slowly but surely cause the patient to have problems anywhere blood can flow in the body. It's actually one of the leading mimics of MS.

There are 3 blood tests that will need to be done and then repeated. I'm not sure why this condition is missed a lot but it was one I wanted to be checked for more than once because many people are misdx with MS but have actually had APS. Look at the Hughes Foundation site online and see what you think.

I think it certainly won't hurt to see if this has or hasn't been checked by your docs. I just read your post and this came to mind. I do feel for you and you need to get some answers because nobody should have to be living with a migraine for that long. I think I would have lost it by now and barely manage a 24 hour migraine these days.

Take Care,

Karry.
