It's all in my head . . . the pain that is : )

I posted a question several months ago concerning pain on my scalp.  At that time I had several circles of pain on the top of my head - as if someone was grasping my head with very strong hands. Ice packs helped ease the discomfort at most times.  This week I have had a headache (not miserable) for two days straight and then in the afternoon of day three.  The pains moved from my teeth, to my cheek bone, in front of my ear, up and over my scalp.  At times my scalp and face would go numb.  Could this possibly be TN?

Hey ess, I saw this new neuro about a month ago. I called last Friday as I had not heard anything from him about this other appointment. The receptionist said that he had put a call in but that they had not heard back yet but she would talk to the neuro about it and would call me as soon as the appointment was set up. Still haven't heard from them. So I'll give them a call this week again and be a thorn in their side until they do it.

Gosh, you've waited a long time for the next follow-up. Do you even have an appt. with the doc recommended? Can you call and speed up the process?

Right now my diagnostic standing is probable MS. I had been fighting with a MS specialist for over 2 years who's ego was bigger than his brain. I finally got someone to get me to a different neuro and although he was not a MS neuro, he was great. He did a thorough in office test on me and said my problem is definitely neurological and he highly suspects MS. He is now trying to get me into a specific MS specialist that he wants me to see.

My face pain as of yet had not hit my teeth, thank goodness. I get bad pain in my cheek then it moves into my jaw and then back into my cheek and then into my left temple. I have also had it in my right cheek as well though. I also get numbness in the face with it as well. I had a night where I could not eat supper because the chewing motion was causing more pain.

I hope we both get answers soon.

Hugs

I have actually awaken to find sore areas on my scalp.  I thought that I had surely bumped my head and had just forgotten about it.  A few days later I would notice the tender area had moved to a different spot.  I wasn't sure why this was happening; of course, I'm not sure why much of anything is happening anymore. LOL!  Usually my pain seems to be on the outside of my skull.

Is TN something that only occurs during an exacerbation, or can it be a lingering symptom?

It sounds like it could be TN.  I have TN and my scalp get so sore. My mom has TN and she complains of a very sore scalp also.

TN can make teeth hurt so badly you just want to run to the tool box, get some plyers, and pull them out your self!!! If you start feeling some heavy pain GO to the doctor.  Heavy pain killers won't touch this stuff.  :(

Today my front, bottom teeth have been very sensitive - something I've never had a problem with.

What is your diagnostic standing??

I get some of the same things you have been describing and was wondering the same thing. I saw that this is getting to the bottom of the page so I'm bumping it up.
