Thanks everyone for you help. My Neuro cannot say for sure if I have MS or not because of the side effects of Humira and this being the first time I have had symptoms. He is taking a wait and see approach. I go back in 6 months or call him if I have anymore symptoms and we will repeat the MRI in a years time. He gave me a copy of my LP report and my MRI. I do have neuro damage either way.
Thanks again everyone for you answers.
I'm not sure what your neuro meant by that comment. Why not ask him? We can only speculate.
Quite a few of us here with MS don't/didn't have O-bands. I don't think that it has anything to do with the type of MS we have. I have RRMS.
Hi Kyle,
I thought some types of MS do not show o-bands in the spinal fluid? Do you know if this is correct?
Thanks!
I would think he meant he had no difficulty and you were an easy "stick" which is good for you........be patient, sometimes it takes awhile for this test to come back.
Clear is good. You can't see o-bands with the naked eye. O-bandspresent in your spinal fluid, but not in your blood drawn at the same time, point in the direction of MS. If they do not find o-bands in your spinal fluid, or find them in both the spinal fluid and blood, it tends to point away from MS.
Hope your back feels bettwer soon :-)
Kyle
PS I still don't know what he meant about no resistance, but I'm thinking it was a good thing.
He was successful with extraction of fluid and the fluid looked great, very clear.
How am I feeling today.....lower back pain around area of puncture but other wise okay.
I have no idea :-) Hi Msajones, I think the real questions are
1) Did he successfully extract your spinal fluid?
2) How do you feel today?
Kyle
