MRI BRAIN NECK SHOULDER

I am a 46 year old female dx with MS Sept. 04. I have had a bad year to say the least. I had my first bout with Optic Neuritis in June and have been getting worse ever since. I recently had an MRI due to severe right shoulder, neck arm and head pain. All new compared to MRI in March 07.....  Several new lesions left frontal lobe, Increased T2/FLAIR in spinal cord at dens measuring 5mm, 2 cm focal spinal cord C7 and T1 with increased Flair/T2 within middle of spinal cord measuring 11mm, findings are concerning for demyelinating plaques. Also Disc protrusion at C5 C6. Now for the shoulder -prominent marrow edema on both sides of the acromioclavicular joint. Can you please be honest with me and tell me your opinion. I don't understand the shoulder MRI and is there anything that can be done? My pain is beyond anything I have ever gone thru. I cannot use my right side at all due to the pain. I use ice packs and heat along with pain meds. but I cannot get control of it. I know my shoulder is swollen. There is a visable lump on the top and I literally hurt all over from this. My right thumb is killing me. Is this all related? There is just so much I don't understand. I am on Copaxone injections for the MS. Oh, and I was also dx with Lupus Dec. 04. But now my tests are normal. How is this possible?
This is the worst MRI yet. I know my MS is worse becasue my legs and arms are wvery weak and I don't feel the same as I did. I am very fatigued and sleep hours upon hours and yet when I awake, I feel like I haven't slept in days.

Thank you for any advise or info you can give me.

Thank you for your kind Welcome!
I was on the IV Solumedrol 5 days for the Optic Neuritis then 7 weeks od prednisone. I lost most of the sight in my right eye, but it is slowly returning. I started Copaxone March 05. I was on Avonex for 10 months prior and was so sick from it.

I haven't talked to my DR yet. I went to pick up my results and thought I would ask since I could probably get an answer that I can understand.

I love Indiana!  My father and his family all lived and grew up in Evansville. I live Southwest of the Indianapolis Airport. About 5 miles in Camby.
I do have some of the best drs here.
I'm just scared and thought maybe someone out there can relate.

Thanks again for Welcoming me!

HI!  I just wanted to say Welcome to the forum.   Sometimes it takes a day or so for some of the knowledgeable people that can maybe answer some of your questions..
I'm sorry you are going thru so much pain.  I was just wondering how long have you been on Copaxone?  What has your MS doc say about the MRI?   I use to live in Evansville, IN and would go to IU to see MS doc there...    Have you tried IV solumedrol treatment?    I take provigil as needed for fatigue...   I know this isn't really helpful, I just wanted to say welcome!  You are not alone!!

Take care
